@rwproctor_ @Kw3sX @Cubantheman@AnaKasparian agreed , but Let us face it, In principle we can agree most of us despise the use of the word by white people. When it comes to context, some may be in disagreement, but it is probably now time to just stand together and point out that it still hurts.
@TheonellJ @Cubantheman@AnaKasparian At least there was a truth and reconciliation committee and nice to see some of them reflect and redress. That is also needed in places like the US
@Cubantheman @TheonellJ @AnaKasparian I think at least the process of racial reckoning has started in places like SA, and good to see that at least some whites are engaged in the process. Racial reckoning is yet to take off in places like the US. And the resistance to even small steps are holding it back.
@SidSnotNZ@Cubantheman@nickchep@AnaKasparian it was used by white people to torment generations of African-Americans. No white person should be using it in any context in 2022. The “but black people say it too”, is a lazy excuse as we have never used it to torment and oppress each other. Most of us dont use the word though
@nickchep@Cubantheman@AnaKasparian sorry, but his argument is valid and not hypocritical in anyway. Whites should not determine how it impacts us, as you are not black. Consensus amongst us is that the word best be avoided in all context by white people. In fact, it is refreshing to see some white people do get it
@TheCourtofJames@Cubantheman@AnaKasparian Still riding a bicycle does not hurt and impact black people the way that slur does. We prefer not to hear it on repeat, just think how it makes us feel seeing these compilation videos on twitter.
@AnaKasparian I understand and wont cancel you as you have done better. However, it is not up to white people to determine whether that word is acceptable in any context. Today the consensus seems that it is not, so it be best to apologize for past use of the term, no matter the context
@Cubantheman@AnaKasparian Very good point Cuban. Thanks for being straight to the point. I am a TYT fan, but all Ana could have done is to explain why they did it, and admit that it was wrong and will not be repeated. Not sure why she had to go “white right” here and bring in “cancel culture”
@rwproctor_ @Cubantheman@ThatJackKerley@AnaKasparian White protect their own interest. Left and right. Hearing one of them quote the n word does not upset me, but their inability to stop for a second to think about why it matters to many of our brothers and sisters, reflects their ignorance and incapability to walk in out shoes
@nickchep@Cubantheman@AnaKasparian Strange how many white folks would rather vehemently protect each other’s right to use a slur, than take a minute to think about the historical and emotional impact on black people. Yes, context matters, blah blah - But you can stop doing it now.
@mailandguardian John “SERVICE DELIVERY” Steenhuisen should get the boot. He can take his matric certificate and very Afrikaans accent and join the FF+. Strangely it was mentioned to me he does not even speak Afrikaans 😂
@RobynPorteous@jsteenhuisen “service delivery” Steenhuisen should take his matric certificate and join the FF+ or ACDP. Unless the DA cleans house, they will go the same route as the NP!
