@AfaqAviation With the strikes in RUH, I would not be surprised if they decided to focus more on VFR destinations like CGK, DEL, HYD, MAA, BLR, etc. In my opinion, RX should look to add India capacity as soon as possible before the bilateral gets full due to the low-cost airlines.
@sandeep_vobl Yeah, I think the only minus for BLR is that I’m not sure if KE could even time an ICN-BOM/BLR/MAA flight to the main NA banks due to the sheer distance. If MAA had a flight to TYO like BLR, then BLR would be ahead.
@sandeep_vobl Looking at the yields, I feel like it would be a better play to try and focus on BLR-ICN as well as connections onto Japan and the U.S. if they time it will for US connections because the yields from secondary South Indian cities don’t look too great.
@sandeep_vobl Taking a look at the yields, if BLR and/or MAA are included in the bilateral, then they would be more likely than BOM tbh unless there is some massive cargo demand out of BOM or there is a big company willing to fill up the premium seats at a high yield.
@sandeep_vobl Interesting. If MAA’s fares drop again next year, then BLR would be more likely for a KE flight to South India. (For all of India, I feel like BOM is more likely than BLR tbh).
@sandeep_vobl How about the trends from 2022 to 2025? I feel like airlines may also look at trends from past years because basing it off one year can be a little unreliable.
