The nationwide declaration period for the federal government's Assault-Style Firearm Compensation Program began on January 19, 2026.

As with many other police services, the Sarnia Police Service is not participating in this program and will not be offering any collection appointments.

The SPS remains steadfast in our commitment to public safety, holding violent offenders accountable, and assisting victims of crime within our community.  We will continue to work with our partner agencies and appropriate levels of government toward those shared objectives.

face nearly 80 charges for attempted kidnapping & various other offences.

He was denied asylum in Canada in 2018.

His appeal was also denied.

So the question is, why was he allowed to remain in the country?
