TW suicidal thoughts/ideation
Taka: Sometimes, it only takes a single sentence. Even if five seconds ago you felt like you wanted to die, like the weight of despair was crushing you, five seconds later those words could create a future you never could have imagined. That’s something I’ve deeply realized through being in this band.
Because of that, no matter what state we’re in, no matter how difficult things become, or what happens around us, I believe I have to stand here today and sing every song until the very end.
Honestly, living isn’t easy. Continuing to live is incredibly difficult. It’s never something you can take for granted. But I think the amazing thing about music is that it can absorb all the despair and hope inside people, hold onto those negative emotions, and then release them.
For the past 20 years, I’ve desperately kept moving forward, and seeing such an incredible view today truly makes me happy. But at the same time, behind beautiful moments like this, there’s often another kind of despair waiting for me too.
After performing in front of huge crowds and returning home alone, I sometimes ask myself, “Who even am I?” When my voice stops working, when my leg is injured, and when everyone is waiting for me but I can’t give my best performance on stage, I keep blaming myself and wondering, “What am I even singing for?”
But from the moment I decided to start this band, my members, staff, and I promised ourselves that we would become a powerful rock band capable of reaching the world. That belief is why I’m standing here singing for you today.
Some of you may have already seen it in the film — there was a time when I was standing on the edge of despair, forcing myself to keep singing through unbearable pain. But somewhere in my heart, I also hoped those moments could someday become something that might save another person trapped in despair too.
Everyone here tonight came carrying different feelings, their own despair and their own hope. I’m sorry for speaking so much Japanese, but these words are coming directly from my heart. Beyond language and culture, this is my sincerest expression of love to all of you.
We will absolutely come back to Taiwan again.
We are ONE OK ROCK. Thank you so much.”

Taka’s MC today at Taipei Dome
“Since the first time we came to this place to hold a concert, 14 years have already passed. We never gave up.
When we first stepped onto this land to perform, we had absolutely no idea how many fans would come.
But by returning here again and again, I believe the soul within us must have reached your ears, your eyes, and your hearts. This is a miracle.
But looking at the view in front of me today, I truly believe that miracles happen to those who keep going and never give up.
Tomorrow will come no matter what, but I still feel that we must cherish and live each day carefully.
As long as this voice, this strength, and these feelings continue to last, I will keep standing in front of all of you with a microphone in my hand and continue singing.
I want to keep this journey going forever with these band members whom I love so dearly.
And even though we feel this way, the biggest reason we want to keep coming back here is not because of money, nor status or fame.
Please never forget that it’s because you are here.
As Japanese artists, being able to take on this first challenge of performing at the Taipei Dome is something I want to engrave into our memories together with all of you.
Thank you so much for today! We are ONE OK ROCK!”
