Really cool to see people still finding value in a tutorial I made over 5 years ago!
Thanks for all the support and don't be too hard on yourselves, everyone's a noob when we start. Keep at it, keep having fun, and you'll be a pro in no time.

Just posted my first announcement to Steam.
Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things but feels pretty cool and surreal in a way. Drop a like and a comment if you want!

I'm making a chill tropical island game and this is the first short devlog ποΈ
It's a mix between a cozy game, a first person simulator with some very light survival mechanics. Let me know what you'd like to see added to the game.

The conclusion is simple: quantity leads to quality because you iterate more often, learn to avoid perfectionism and receive real feedback. Remember, every time you finish a project and put it out there you win and level up!
Most success stories in game dev are pretty similar, developers that try multiple ideas, participate in game jams and test their ideas on real players make great games way more often.
Thereβs a famous study with photography students: one group was graded on quantity β the more photos they took, the better. The other group was graded on quality β just one perfect photo. In the end, the best photos came from the quantity group. Why? They iterated and improved.
Most aspiring game devs have a dream game idea. We build them like imaginary castles and have fantasies about how successful they're going to become. But the harsh reality is that you either can't build that game by yourself or it's not gonna be that good... or both.
