@immersive0507@ShiftParadigm Yes, while engagement is important, this can be tricky. Not every task is going to be a high interest task for all students, especially since there are so many different personalities in one space. #edchat
@Ewingj1Jessica@ShiftParadigm Anxiety can really make going to school tough for some kids, so having social emotional support is so critical too. There is a wait list for our on site counselors, which is a sign that more mental health support is desperately needed.
@jeremyajorg @ShiftParadigm I agree. The interruptions that occur because a student missed a previous lesson is really hard to make up. Not only does the student often interrupt the lesson to remind you that they weren't there, but also, they often do not know what you are talking about in the moment.
@bk_teaches A6-I definitely am feeling out of my comfort level and definitely fumbled a few of my answers by not including hashtags or writing Q instead of A. Not a young pup anymore. #CSP554
@bk_teaches A5- 1. Classroom library filled with rich texts
2. Manipulatives for students to create
3. Technology for students to access multiple sources
4. Open space for classroom circles/activities
5. Places to display student work #CSP554
@bk_teaches A4 Since we do not really have a set science curriculum, I rely heavily on technology programs like Mystery Science to help plan my lessons. These lessons are very hands-on and project based which definitely fit my progressive teaching philosophy. #CSP554
@ms_hart95@bk_teaches You are sparking a memory! I also remember doing a state project on Iowa because my best friend's grandparents lived there and I wanted to learn more about it!
@bk_teaches Q3: I specifically remember using textbooks for math in middle school. I remember that the answers to the even problems were in the back, so the teachers assigned all the odd problems. I was an overachieving nerd, so I used the even problems to check my work #CSP554
