My creative writing booklet is here if anyone wants a look https://t.co/txbp2GBiyL - it covers the basics like tense, run on sentences, subject/verb agreement etc. before teaching pupils a variety of sentence types, methods of planning, with two examples at the end - enjoy!
Wow, this is amazing! What an honour.
I'm so glad people liked this article. It's cold, wet, windy, and dark - have you thought about how to keep your teams moving purposefully in the autumn term?

Scary statistics about the sharp decline in reading. Our Reading Challenge Awards at KS3 work incredibly well to engage pupils with reading with minimal testing and maximum sharing of enjoyment and ideas generated from books. But thereโs still work to be doneโฆ
This particular figure about a sharp decline 11-14 is v significant. We *have* to know why & do something about it. Of course, smart phones & internet may play a part. But what else? A few ideas to follow....
1. 1. Relentless focus on reading for 'academic' success & exams....1/
โStudents at secondary school may struggle to transfer vocabulary between subjects, or need support in navigating the complex academic codes.โ
