UK Dec 2023: First time I have seen these rare Nacreous clouds, also known as ‘Mother of Pearl’ clouds. They normally form in the lower stratosphere over polar regions when the sun is just below the horizon, the colours are produced as sunlight diffracts around tiny ice crystals

June 2019: Mana Pools National Park, the sun sets over the Zambezi River and after a wonderful and exhilarating day canoeing the canoes are safely stored on the river bank. The sound of hippos permeate the evening for me one of the best sounds of Africa. #AfricanSunset #ManaPools

My first post - two rowing boats on the River Wear - Durham
