#Panthers running back Jonathon Brooks either doesn’t know what his top speed is or doesn’t want to share that state secret. Either way is cool.
But he makes it clear: “Faster than Chuba, for sure.”
#Panthers have the 10th toughest schedule. However, you have to think today’s moves soften things a bit. No Myles Garrett in Week 3 and no AJ Brown in Week 6 coming off the bye.
Tre’von Moehrig was ranked No. 5 among NFL “Star” defenders by https://t.co/SQFaEKAx4D’s Bucky Brooks.
The ranking is not for safeties specifically. It evaluates hybrid defenders who can impact the game in multiple ways, including coverage, run support, blitzing, and lining up at different positions across the defense.
Moehrig placed fifth after playing snaps at linebacker, slot corner, strong safety, free safety, and along the defensive line during his first season in Carolina. His versatility and production made him one of the league’s top players at the position.
#Broncos 4x All-Pro S Justin Simmons, who recently retired, tells me that if he played last season, it likely would’ve been with the #Panthers, who were in constant contact with him about signing and reuniting with DC Ejiro Evero.
Big area to watch this season is the emergence of a true WR3 for the #Panthers. Lot of optimism for an improved role for the 2nd-year guy Jimmy Horn Jr.
