JUST IN | Retired Major General Everisto Dzihwema dies

Retired Major General Everisto Dzihwema, a senior former military officer who later served in key positions within Zimbabwe's civil service, has died while undergoing treatment in India.

During a distinguished career in public service spanning both the security sector and government administration, Dzihwema held senior leadership roles, including Chief Director in the Ministry of Youth and later in the Ministry of Veterans of the Liberation Struggle. He also served as a member of the Veterans of the Liberation Struggle Board.

Widely regarded as a dedicated public servant, Dzihwema was among a generation of senior officials who transitioned from military service to public administration, contributing to policy implementation and the welfare of liberation war veterans through various state institutions.

He is survived by his wife, Alice, and their three children.
