One of the biggest challenges facing New Jersey families is finding a home they can afford.
To help tackle that challenge, we convened the Housing Governing Council for its first meeting. Addressing our housing shortage will take coordination across government, and I'm grateful to our partners across state government for helping move this effort forward.
We are committed to making New Jersey the best place to put down roots and build a future.
After being denied access for weeks, I was finally allowed into Delaney Hall – but what I received was a closely controlled and limited tour of the facility. That is unacceptable.
I was not allowed to meet or speak directly with the detainees, which continues to raise serious questions about the real conditions of the facility and the treatment of those held there. I will continue to push to speak with the detainees directly. They deserve to be heard and the public deserves answers.
It was an honor to attend the swearing-in of Dr. Raynard Washington as New Jersey’s Commissioner of Health last week.
Throughout his nearly 20-year career, Dr. Washington has consistently risen to the challenge, led with data, and worked to improve health outcomes for all.
I look forward to working with him to a build a more affordable, accountable, and healthier New Jersey.
