There is beauty in deciding to FEEL feelings. Sometimes our mental health can suffer if we choose to suppress them. Instead, let them come and go — understand that it is all part of a bigger process in your journey.

In times of intense stress, after national news events that shake us up, it is okay to feel grief, fear, and uncertainty. We should acknowledge tragedy; not become numb to it or try to mask our feelings with a false sense of positivity. There IS such a thing as toxic positivity.
Recognizing your anxious peers and their tendencies is important for fostering a safe space for them to thrive. Many people have what’s called “high-functioning anxiety,” meaning it won’t cripple their daily activity at the surface level, but there is a latent stress happening.
