Like so many charity leaders and NFP orgs I am not really on 'X' these days. Yet, our work today with young people, on skills and community cohesion have never been more important in the UK. Posting updates, work and thoughts on LI if you need me. https://t.co/3dZ61PvJVT
@campbellclaret Have you checked out the recommendations from the Commission on Political Power? (Rory technically a member) Baroness d'Souza et al putting forward Senate suggestion. Hard not to agree one benefit of an upper house is their scrutiny of legislation that can't be lost.
Undercover economist, @TimHarford joins us on the show next week and wants to take some of your questions!
Whether it's about the budget, the future of global economics or an interesting tax solution you've got up your sleeve, let us know 👇
If you want a break from US election/ fun yet serious take on thinking about boosting the economy these 2 recent interviews with @TimHarford - a fave of mine - on RIM podcast is a great listen. Takeaway: Play more D&D.
Will say it again:
New populism isn't anti-establishment, it's far more socially and democratically damaging unprejudiced, rabid anti-institutionalism.
All podcasts & polls talking about how young wht men are now more far-right, pro-military and 'anti-establishment' than ever.
Truth is actually much scarier: they are actually entirely anti-institution, entirely, and in the US, anti-government. (@campbellclaret@RoryStewartUK )
Model update.
After consistent gains by Trump in mid-October, really pretty steady over the past 10 days.
Probably an evening update too.

If I could give work advice that is applicable to most people:
Don't be an ideas person.
Be someone who organises (people, resources, decisions, buy-in) and makes things happen. Ask how can I make that happen.
An poignant political moment as our first female Chancellor is delivering the first Labour budget in 14 years, as I write this... @YoungCitizensUK may need to consider this case study for its Chance to be a Chancellor school activities!
Oddly, this space looks exactly how I imagined in my head (sans the strange photoshopped people??).
There's a lot to do for East London and Stratford communities to make them affordable, but it really has been a triumph to see East Bank develop like this and invest locally.
Hate the 'did a thing' trope, but I have.
My vote is off to Ohio from London,
more emotional than usual.
And I can't quite believe I have a board mtg 6th Nov no idea what (mental) state I will be in! Having an infant hopefully will make lack of sleep easier #USElection2024
Looking forward to this...
'FBVs' were undermined by stemming from Prevent policy. A chance here to renew them with the focus they should have: a more democratic, equitable society, and clearer purpose to embed for educators. And, adding Respecting the Environment!
Today at 10am! Watch the @UKHouseofLords debate on updating 'fundamental British values' to 'Values of British Citizenship' - with contributions from our President, Baroness D'Souza 📺
This is more than superficial - it is a necessary shift for schools. https://t.co/F2XVecWPHW
For those teachers and parents increasingly worried about extremism, populism and social breakdown filtering to children and teens - citizenship has a key role to play as does @YoungCitizensUK
Great to see that point from @Melissa_Benn and @vicgoddard's view here
Teachers know this too, and see the breakdown of trust, values and social inclusion. As we continue in our mission to give more state school students access to inspiring, relevant active citizenship learning -- this point has never felt more important to combat these issues.

It's also why @YoungCitizensUK focuses on centring empowerment of young people, their voice and action alongside that knowledge. And, our work with those institutions. Who need to hear it. These young ppl will also be those future leaders - public sector, business, politics, etc
The amount the word "vibes" is now used in entirely serious conversations, meetings, analysis from serious people is nothing short of astonishing if you think about it.
My friend Natasha has been missing for 7 days
She is 55 yr old transwoman, last seen in Soho on Friday at 2am wearing a white Chanel suit.
I am asking if any editors or publications would be up for reposting or perhaps covering a small news story about her disappearance 🙏
