The strawberry planting season is well on the way @NIABEMR. Today we planted more than 700 plants for @Bio4safe1 2020 trials (Social distancing was observed). We will assess the effect of seaweed biostimulants on strawberry production under water and nutrient deficiency.

Preparing water extracts from coconut coir @NIABEMR for @HBluec project. Unused (left), 2x used (mid), 2x used coir with biochar (right). Testing them for eco-toxicity soon.

The biochar is added and plants are ready to be planted for 2019 @HBluec trials on coconut coir recycling. @NIABEMR are looking forward to test if biochar can increase strawberry yield and quality when grown in reused coir.
