@IrrelevancePer1 Even if someone didn't have a mental illness since childhood, I'd anticipate that they'd be different as they get older, have more experiences, and heal. People change and that's not a bad thing. I'm certainly not the same person I was a few years ago.
@8AMinthemorn @philosophytweet Many people do. As @cascadian_idol said, someone who believes in both free will & determinism is called a "compatibilist." My point was just that someone who has a concept of freedom that doesn't rely on potential outcomes can reasonably be a compatibilist.
@Beipher I used to value intelligence more. Then, I realized that people can be absolute geniuses and still believe the earth is flat because they value their own comfort instead of the truth.
