We often don't realize the kind of sacrifices athletes make in their pursuit of bringing glory to the nation.

Take Kishore Kumar Jena, for example. Hailing from Kothasahi village near Puri in Odisha, he has not been home in three years now and really just wants a nice plate of dal chawal.

"I’ve had moments where I’ve felt like leaving Patiala [where the national camp is] and going home to have a plate full of dal and rice. I really miss the food my mother makes back at home and have often felt homesick," he'd said in September.

With the Asian Games 🥈 medal around his neck now, he will finally have the chance to go back to a very proud home :')
