Comfort during menstruation should come naturally. Through affordable pad prices. Through free pads in public restrooms. Through availability in schools and workplaces. Through policies that actually consider women. Menstrual hygiene is healthcare. Not luxury.

You might comfortably buy pads without checking the price twice. But there are people standing in stores right now doing painful calculations before choosing between food, transport, or menstrual hygiene.

Women should not have to suffer through periods in silence while acting like everything is okay.

Some people are now using unsafe alternatives for longer than they should because they simply do not have options.

That can increase the risk of irritation, infections, rashes and other health complications. Periods are already stressful enough on their own

And before you say “it’s not my problem,” please understand that menstrual health is not only a women’s issue.

It is everybody’s issue. Because the girl missing school because of her period affects society. The woman distracted at work because she’s uncomfortable affects society too

But somehow, we still expect women to maintain proper menstrual hygiene.

HOW?

How do you expect proper menstrual hygiene when pads are becoming ridiculously expensive?

How do you tell girls to change their pads regularly when some people are struggling to even buy one pack?

How do you preach comfort and cleanliness when basic menstrual products are starting to feel like luxury items?

Use tissue. Fold old cloth. Change just once the whole day instead of the recommended 3–4 times. Because that’s what she can afford.
