Michael was the epitome of everything positive about the GAA and local community. One of our very best on the field and a great man off it. Our condolences to his family, everyone in @abbeyknockmoyhc and his many teammates at club and county level who are in shock today.
@peterswellman Most great goals are the result of poor defensive work at some level but that goal from the catch, length of run, the fact he had caught it twice & had to play off hurling & he was able to blast it into roof of net was top top class.
@peterswellman Kilkenny left them in it at ht by not taking goal chances in 1st half.
A lot of wayward shooting, thought it was poor fare for an all Ireland semi.

@peterswellman Cork showed great character to react to each Limerick goal.
Limerick players struggled with Corks direct running & surprisingly in the air.
Kyle Hayes cynical dragging down of Cork rightly penalised with black card & penalty .
@finnster1977 I remember Gort playing championship back in late 80s/early 90s & as was their plan at the time Sylvie would be shifted into the forwards. Well he must have hopped off every opponent as he jogged up to his new station.
You couldn’t take your eyes off him.
@TribesmenGAA Mike Gill (Portumna) - go to man marker for years for Portumna.
Ger Kelly (Kiltormer) - best back Kiltormer had for years.
Alan O’Donvan (Corofin) - danger man for club but as far as I know never player senior for Galway in championship
