On the Shaheedi Diwas of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Ji, we remember one of the most extraordinary chapters in Sikh history - a life transformed by faith, dedicated to justice, and completed through sacrifice.

Born as Lachhman Dev and later known as Madho Das Bairagi, his life changed forever after meeting Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. The Guru entrusted him not with power, but with a mission - to stand against oppression and uphold righteousness.

Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Ji led campaigns that challenged tyranny and gave dignity to ordinary people. After the victory at Sirhind, he introduced reforms that were revolutionary for their time, empowering farmers and weakening oppressive systems.

Yet his greatest victory was not on the battlefield.

Captured after years of resistance and subjected to unimaginable cruelty, Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Ji refused to abandon his faith. Even in the face of death, his spirit remained unbroken.

His Shaheedi stands as a timeless reminder that courage is not the absence of suffering - it is remaining true to your principles despite it.

Remembering his sacrifice and drawing inspiration from his unwavering spirit.

Random Thoughts: Most of us are living life in draft mode. We tell ourselves that the real life will begin soon.

Soon, when work becomes easier.
Soon, when money becomes enough.
Soon, when the house is bigger.
Soon, when the children grow up.
Soon, when things finally settle down.

And while preparing to live, we forget to live.

We save the good clothes for a special occasion and end up never wearing them. We postpone the trip. Delay calling old friends. Keep expensive candles wrapped. Save beautiful notebooks for the “right moment.”

Hide our emotions. Delay kindness. Delay joy.

As if life is a rehearsal and the real performance starts later. But one day, we look back and realize there was no second act waiting.

Those ordinary mornings were life. That tea with family was life. That imperfect version of ourselves was life. Those unfinished days were life.

Life does not arrive one grand day with music and perfect timing. It quietly passes through ordinary Tuesdays and forgotten evenings.

Wear the good clothes.

The largest empire of India could not close the Khyber Pass from where all the invaders came. This pass was closed by Maharaja Ranjit Singh's Khalsa Raj, Akali Baba Phula Singh and S. Hari Singh Nalwa closed it by won the battles of Multan, Peshawar & Naushera. Earlier, when the Sikh army was not so organized, the Sikhs would sometimes plunder Nadar, sometimes Abdali, and sometimes loot the treasury going from Lahore to Delhi. This was a sign that there was a Kaum in Punjab whose conscience was awakened. That is why no other religion was persecuted, only the Sikhs. The Sikhs' heads were also beheaded because they did not bow before the government.
