Some businesses run on profit. Others run on purpose.
For the last 56 years, 70-year-old Ramachandra has been waking up at 4 AM to hand-grind batter and cook around 1,500 idlis every single day over a traditional firewood stove at his tiny Kote Mane Idli shop in Karnataka's Kanakapura.
And even today, each idli costs just ₹5.
He took over his father's shop at just 16, never changed the recipe, and still spends nearly 6 hours in the kitchen because, for him, feeding people is more than a business, it's a way of honouring his father's legacy.
When asked why he still works at 70, his answer was simple:
"If I stop working, I feel I don't exist."
Some people don't chase success.
They quietly build a life of purpose, one steaming plate at a time. ❤️

They nicknamed 80 year old Irishman, Caron Rawnsley, ‘Paagal Saab’ for his obsession with cleaning Jodhpur’s Bawris & Jhalaras.
Fortunately, today, you don’t need to be either ‘paagal’ or ‘phirang’ to devote yourself to reviving India’s stepwells.
Earlier this year, I had posted myself about Chand Baori and how well it was being maintained.
Across the country, pioneers like Rajendra Singh and Kalpana Ramesh, organisations such as Tarun Bharat Sangh and Project Bawri, & countless local volunteers & village communities are restoring these extraordinary structures as living symbols of both heritage & water security.
But I still want to salute Paagal Saab Caron, for his love of Jodhpur and his selflessness and passion for our heritage.
May his work never cease…

Not all fatherhood looks the same. Some of it looks like courage. Some of it looks like quiet rebellion. And some of it simply looks like choosing love when the world expected otherwise.
This Father’s Day, let’s celebrate the ones who chose love over fear, acceptance over judgment, and their children over everything the world told them a “father” should be.
The ones who didn’t just raise kids but redefined what it means to stand by them, unconditionally.
Scroll down to meet fathers who quietly rewrote the meaning of fatherhood.
