Raksha Mantri Shri @rajnathsingh flagged off “Aparajita – Parang La 2026”, an all-girls high-altitude trek of the National Cadet Corps (NCC), at Kartavya Bhawan, New Delhi today.

Led by women Officers from all three Services, the expedition brings together 28 NCC Girl Cadets, with the youngest being just 16½ years old, to undertake one of India’s most challenging high-altitude trekking routes.

The expedition will cover approximately 250 km in 30 days, crossing the formidable Parang La Pass at 5,578 m (18,300 ft) and traversing glaciers, snowfields, high-altitude deserts and remote Himalayan valleys.

Aparajita symbolises the indomitable spirit of India’s daughters—courage, resilience, leadership, determination and Nari Shakti—while reflecting the NCC’s commitment to empowering youth and building confident, disciplined and responsible citizens.
