My commitments span every pillar of governance, strengthening support for women, youth, farmers, landless agricultural labourers, and the elderly; advancing education and healthcare; ensuring housing and piped drinking water for every household; strengthening administration; and transforming Bengal into the Gateway of trade for Eastern India.

Through these pledges, I reiterate my resolve to sustain the momentum of progress with renewed vigour in the fourth term of my Maa-Mati-Manush Sarkar, and to further strengthen Bengal’s position as one of the leading states of the nation.

They promised citizenship to the Matua community in 2019.

They betrayed that promise by delaying the notification of CAA rules.

In 2024, they once again revived the CAA issue to mislead our Matua brothers and sisters and harvest their votes.

Then came the SIR exercise in Bengal, where legitimate Matua voters were deleted from the rolls. Their own leaders shamelessly declared that it would be “acceptable” even if one lakh Matua names were removed.

They went on to run sham CAA camps, promising citizenship in exchange for money. Now another of their leaders sits with a lawyer and a laptop, collecting money from voters whose names were deleted, promising to get them restored to the electoral rolls.

This is the reality of Matua-Birodhi, Bangla-Birodhi @BJP4India. This is how they treat the Matua community. As nothing more than a vote bank to exploit, deceive, and discard.

Today, on International Women’s Day, I reflect on the strength, dignity and resilience of women who shape our lives. In Bengal, respect for women is not symbolic, it is woven into our culture. We worship Maa Durga as our daughter and call this land Bangla Ma.

For fifteen years, Bengal has been led by a woman whose courage and conviction have shown the country what determined leadership looks like. Under Smt. Mamata Banerjee, women’s empowerment has meant real support, opportunity and dignity for millions.

আন্তর্জাতিক নারী দিবসের শুভক্ষণে সারা বিশ্বের সবাইকে জানাই আমার অনেক শুভনন্দন।

আমি কুর্নিশ জানাই এই বাংলার মাটিকে – এ মাটি প্রীতিলতা ওয়াদ্দেদারের মাটি, এ মাটি মাতঙ্গিনী হাজরার মাটি, এ মাটি কল্পনা দত্ত, বীণা দাশ, সুনীতি চৌধুরীর মাটি, এ মাটি মাদার টেরিজার মাটি।

আন্তর্জাতিক নারী দিবসের এই শুভক্ষণে একটা বিশেষ কাজ আমরা করেছি। 'যুবসাথী' প্রকল্পে টাকা দেবার কথা ছিল আগামী এপ্রিল মাস থেকে। আজকের দিনে যুবসমাজকে সম্মান জানিয়ে গতকাল থেকেই 'যুবসাথী' প্রকল্পের টাকা দেওয়া আমরা শুরু করেছি। গতকাল থেকেই প্রায় ১ কোটি আবেদনকারীর ব্যাঙ্ক একাউন্টে টাকা যাওয়া শুরু হয়ে গেছে। আমি সকলকে জানাই উষ্ণ অভিনন্দন।

আমরা সবসময় চেষ্টা করি এভাবেই সর্বস্তরের, সকল মানুষের পাশে থাকতে। আর অন্যদিকে, কেন্দ্র সরকারের কাজ শুধু মানুষকে হয়রানি করা। গ্যাসের দাম যেভাবে বৃদ্ধি করা হল, তার প্রভাব পড়বে মানুষের হেঁসেলে। আজ তাই বাংলার মেয়েরা প্রতিবাদে পথে নামবে, তাঁদের পরনে থাকবে প্রতিবাদের কালো শাড়ি।

"আমার লক্ষ্মী প্রতিবাদ জানায়, কন্ঠে তার আগুন,
আমার লক্ষ্মী দেশ জয় করে, সবারে বলে – জাগুন।।"

বাংলার প্রতিটি মেয়ে আমাদের গর্ব। সমাজের প্রতিটি স্তরে তাঁদের অবদান অপরিসীম।

তাই শুধুমাত্র বছরের একটি বিশেষ দিন নয়, আমার কাছে প্রতিটা দিনই নারী দিবস।
যে সমাজে মেয়েরা ভালো থাকে না, সেই সমাজ কখনো ভালো থাকতে পারে না।

তাই, জীবনের প্রতিটি ক্ষেত্রে যাতে তাঁরা এগিয়ে যেতে পারে তা সুনিশ্চিত করতে আমাদের সরকার প্রথম দিন থেকে অনেকগুলি যুগান্তকারী কর্মসূচী নিয়েছে।

লক্ষ্মীর ভাণ্ডার প্রকল্পে উপভোক্তার সংখ্যা এখন বেড়ে দাঁড়িয়েছে ২ কোটি ৪১ লক্ষ। ভাতার পরিমাণও আবার ৫০০ টাকা করে বাড়ানো হয়েছে - তপশিলী জাতি ও আদিবাসী পরিবারের মহিলারা এখন মাসে ১৭০০ টাকা এবং অন্যান্যরা মাসে ১৫০০ টাকা করে পাচ্ছেন।

স্বাস্থ্যসাথী প্রকল্পে স্মার্টকার্ডটি পরিবারের মহিলা সদস্যের নামে। প্রায় ২ কোটি ৪২ লক্ষ মহিলা এই কার্ড পেয়েছেন।

স্কুল, কলেজ ও বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় – সব স্তরেই মেয়েরা কন্যাশ্রী পাচ্ছে। ১ কোটি ছাত্রী এখন কন্যাশ্রী। UNESCO তে সেরার শিরোপা পেয়ে ‘কন্যাশ্রী’ বিশ্বজয়ী।

রূপশ্রী প্রকল্পের মাধ্যমে প্রায় ২৩ লক্ষ মহিলাকে বিবাহের জন্য এককালীন ২৫,০০০ টাকা করে আর্থিক সহায়তা দেওয়া হয়েছে।

সবুজসাথী প্রকল্পে রাজ্যের ছাত্র-ছাত্রীদের ১ কোটি ৪৮ লক্ষ সাইকেল দেওয়া হয়েছে, তার মধ্যে প্রায় ৭৯ লক্ষ মেয়েদের জন্য।

মা–বোনেদের ও শিশুদের স্বাস্থ্যরক্ষায় আমাদের সরকার বহুমুখী পদক্ষেপ করা হয়েছে। মাদার এন্ড চাইল্ড হাব হয়েছে ১৭টি। গর্ভবতী মহিলাদের জন্য ১৩টি ওয়েটিং হাট হয়েছে। এসবের ফলে প্রাতিষ্ঠানিক প্রসবের হার ৬৮.১% থেকে বেড়ে হয়েছে ৯৯.১৪%।

আজ নারী সুরক্ষায় বাংলা দেশের সেরা। কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারই বলছে দেশের সবচেয়ে নিরাপদ শহর কলকাতা। এই নিরাপত্তা আরও সুদৃঢ় করতে কদিন আগেই কলকাতা পুলিশের উদ্যোগে পিঙ্ক বুথ' ও অল-উইমেন 'SHINING' মোবাইল পরিষেবা শুরু করা হয়েছে। মেয়েরা রাতবিরেতে যাতে আরো সুরক্ষিত বোধ করে তার জন্যই আমাদের এই উদ্যোগ।

নারী নিরাপত্তা সুনিশ্চিত করতে এর আগেও আমরা অনেক পদক্ষেপ করেছি। ‘অপরাজিতা বিল’ পাশ করা হয়েছে। ৪৯টি মহিলা থানা স্থাপন করা হয়েছে। ২০১১ সালের আগে কোন মহিলা থানা ছিল না।এছাড়া বিচার ব্যবস্থায় গতি আনতে মহিলাদের জন্য ৫২টি ফাস্ট ট্র্যাক কোর্ট তৈরি করা হয়েছে।

ত্রিস্তরীয় পঞ্চায়েতে ৫০% মহিলা আসন সংরক্ষণ কার্যকর করেছি আমরা। এমনকি বিধানসভা, লোকসভা ও রাজ্যসভাতেও আমাদের মহিলা প্রতিনিধির সংখ্যা দেশের মধ্যে অগ্রগণ্য।

‘আনন্দধারা’ প্রকল্পের আওতায় ১.২১ কোটি মহিলাকে নিয়ে ১২ লক্ষেরও বেশি SHG তৈরী হয়েছে – সারা দেশে যা আর কেউ করতে পারেনি। নানা প্রশিক্ষণের মাধ্যমে তাঁদের দক্ষতা বাড়ানো হচ্ছে এবং তাঁদের জন্য ঋণের ব্যবস্থা করে তাঁদের স্বনির্ভর করা হচ্ছে। আমাদের এই প্রকল্প দেশের মডেল।

রাজ্য সরকারী অফিস, স্কুল, কলেজ, বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়, পঞ্চায়েত ও মিউনিসিপ্যালিটিতে কর্মরত মহিলা কর্মীদের জন্য আমরা ৭৩০ দিন সবেতন Child Care Leave মঞ্জুর করা হয়েছে।

‘কর্মাঞ্জলি’ প্রকল্পের আওতায় কর্মরত মহিলাদের থাকার জন্য বাংলা জুড়ে গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে ১৩টি হস্টেল। আমি এর নাম রেখেছি ‘কর্মাঞ্জলি’।

শেষে বলি –

I am shocked and deeply concerned by the sudden news of the resignation of Shri C. V. Ananda Bose, the Governor of West Bengal.

The reasons behind his resignation are not known to me at this moment. However, given the prevailing circumstances, I would not be surprised if the Governor has been subjected to some pressure from the Union Home Minister to serve certain political interests on the eve of the forthcoming State Assembly elections.

Union Home Minister just informed me that Shri R.N. Ravi is being appointed as Governor of West Bengal. He never consulted with me as per the established convention in this regard.

Such actions undermine the spirit of the Constitution of India and strike at the very foundation of our federal structure. The Centre must respect the principles of cooperative federalism and refrain from taking unilateral decisions that erode democratic conventions and the dignity of States.

Proud to share that, for further increasing the safety and confidence of women in our city, Kolkata Police is launching two more initiatives from today.

First, several all-women Pink Booths at key city intersections will be commissioned and be operational from evening to midnight, today onwards. My sisters in the city will be able to connect directly with the lady officers of KP for any assistance in these booths.

Second, today evening onwards, several 'SHINING' (as I have named them) all-women mobile patrol teams will also be on duty from 8 pm to 2 AM, patrolling E.M. Bypass and other major city roads used by my working sisters during night hours.

Kolkata continues to be the safest city in the country over the years and I am sure these two unique new initiatives will go a long way in furthering the same.

Mahatma Gandhi used to say that the moral worth of a society is revealed in the way it stands beside its most vulnerable.

That principle found clear affirmation in Nandigram, where twenty-three residents referred through Sebaashray underwent free cataract surgeries at Kalyani Eye Care, seventeen identified at Camp 1 and six at Camp 2.

For many, failing vision had meant restricted movement, reduced work, and a gradual withdrawal from daily life. This was not merely a medical procedure; it was the restoration of independence, confidence, and dignity. Healthcare cannot operate in fragments. It cannot stop at diagnosis or end with an announcement. It must guide a person from need to relief, from identification to full recovery.

Sebaashray was conceived with that continuity at its core, so that no citizen remains suspended between illness and care. That responsibility endures, and we remain committed to upholding it with seriousness and resolve.

আন্তর্জাতিক মাতৃভাষা দিবসের এই পুণ্যদিনে সম্মান জানাই বিশ্বের সকল ভাষা ও ভাষাভাষী মানুষকে। বিশ্বের সকল দেশের সকল ভাষা-শহিদদের ও ভাষা-সংগ্রামীদের জানাই আমার প্রণাম ও অন্তরের শ্রদ্ধা।

রবীন্দ্রনাথ - নজরুল - সুকান্ত - জীবনানন্দের বাংলা শুধু নয়, আমরা সব ভাষাকেই সম্মান করি। এটা আমার গর্ব যে, আমাদের সময়ে হিন্দি, সাঁওতালি, কুরুখ, কুড়মালি, নেপালি, উর্দু, রাজবংশী, কামতাপুরী, পাঞ্জাবি, তেলুগু ভাষাকে আমরা সরকারি ভাষা হিসাবে স্বীকৃতি দিয়েছি। সাদরি ভাষার মানোন্নয়নেও আমরা সচেষ্ট হয়েছি। হিন্দি আকাদেমি, রাজবংশী ভাষা আকাদেমি, কামতাপুরী ভাষা আকাদেমি, সাঁওতালি আকাদেমি – সব করা হয়েছে। এটাও সুনিশ্চিত করেছি যে, রাজ্যের প্রত্যেক ভাষা-ভাষী মানুষ তাদের মাতৃভাষায় পড়াশোনা করার সুযোগ পায়।

একুশের এই পুণ্য দিনে আরও একবার অঙ্গীকার করছি — যে-কোনো ভাষার ওপর যদি আক্রমণ আসে – আমরা সবাই মিলে তার বিরুদ্ধে রুখে দাঁড়াবো। সকল ভাষা সমান ভাবে সম্মাননীয়।

Shocked again!

Yet again, our Prime Minister aggressively displays his cultural insensitivity to great figures of Bengal. Today is the janmatithi of Yugavatara (God's incarnation in our age) Sri Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsadeva. While trying to hail the great saint on this occasion, our PM added an unprecedented and improper prefix to the great saint's name, “Swami”!

As is well known, Sri Ramakrishna was widely revered as Thakur (literally, God). While his ascetic disciples constituted the Ramakrishna Math and the Ramakrishna Mission after their Master's demise, and those monks were then called “Swami” as per Indian traditions, the Master, the Acharya, himself continued to be referred to as Thakur. The prefix “Swami” was meant for his disciples in the Ramakrishna Order; but the holy trinity of the Order remained Thakur–Ma–Swamiji. Thakur is Sri Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsadeva, Ma is Ma Sarada, and Swamiji is Swami Vivekananda.

I urge the Prime Minister kindly not to discover new prefixes and suffixes for the great Renaissance figures of Bengal who shaped modern India.
