A young migrant worker from Purulia was lynched in Maharashtra for speaking Bengali, the language in which he first called his mother “Ma.” Under @narendramodi and @AmitShah, your mother tongue can become your death warrant.
This is the same Bengali language that gave this nation “Jana Gana Mana” and “Vande Mataram.” The same Bengal whose sacrifices fuelled India’s freedom struggle. The same land that has given the country thinkers, revolutionaries, Nobel laureates, artists, and soldiers. Yet its sons are hunted in BJP-ruled states the moment they are identified as Bengali.
This is the outcome of a politics that demonises, divides, and dehumanises. When hate is normalised from the top, mobs feel authorised at the bottom. Bangla-Birodhi BJP has cultivated an atmosphere where Bengalis are profiled, targeted, and brutalised.
BJP must answer for these deaths, for this persecution, for the blood that stains your politics of hate.

Addressing the Hon’ble Supreme Court, Smt. @mamataofficial spoke with humility and clarity, placing on record the anguish of a state whose repeated appeals have gone unanswered. She conveyed that this was not a political battle, but a constitutional appeal made when all other doors had closed.
Having written multiple times to the @ecisveep without response, she stated that her presence before the Court was driven by the belief that justice must remain accessible when institutions fail to listen.
This intervention, she emphasised, was not for party interest, but for citizens whose rights cannot be left unheard.

Today in Parliament, I once again spoke about the suffering of migrant people from Bengal. I highlighted how many are facing harassment and abuse simply for speaking Bengali, and raised the shocking case of Sonali Khatun, an Indian citizen allegedly deported into Bangladesh. I stated that in several BJP-ruled states, Bengalis are being targeted for their language, exposing a deep anti-Bengal mindset. Even BJP MPs from Bengal tried to silence me. I made it clear: the people of Bengal are watching, and there will be accountability in 2026. Our fight for dignity and rights will never stop under leadership of @MamataOfficial and @abhishekaitc
Thank you @abhishekaitc@MamataOfficial@SamirulAITC@AITCofficial
Once again Bengali spekaing migrant workers targeted in BJP-ruled state.
In Odisha's Sambalpur one from Murshidabad lynched to death and two others injured after BJP goons attacked them & labelled them as Bangladeshi infiltrators.
How many lives of innocent Bengali speaking people the BJP wants? This is nothing but another example on how BJP treats Bengalis.
Now the time has come to throw BJP out and common people of Bengal will teach Bangla-Birodhi BJP a lesson democratically in upcoming polls.
I sincerely thank my Rajya Sabha colleague @sagarikaghose for her powerful speech in the Rajya Sabha today on the plight of Bengali-speaking migrant workers. I appreciate her bold voice in speaking for those poor people, including Sunali Khatun and her minor son, who had been illegally deported and were finally repatriated through our legal battle led by @MamataOfficial and @abhishekaitc . She also mentioned Sweety Biwi and three others who are awaiting repatriation. The fight inside and outside the Parliament for those illegally deported people will continue till anti-Bengali Zamindars stop torturing Bengali-speaking migrant workers.

.@BJP4India's war against Bengal is unfolding in broad daylight !
In BJP-ruled Odisha, Bengali traders from Murshidabad, men who have lived and worked there for years, were given 72 hours to leave. Not by goons, but by the local police themselves.
They showed Aadhaar, They showed voter cards. They proved their identity again and again. And yet, they were called “Rohingya”, “Bangladeshi”, and ordered to get out, only because of their language.
This is the direct outcome of the BJP’s project: to brand Bengalis as outsiders in their own country, to poison the minds of their police, their cadre, and their states against anyone who speaks our language or carries our identity. Where documents don’t matter. Where citizenship doesn’t matter. Where belonging from Bengal is enough to be targeted.
Let the BJP hear this loud and clear: Bengal does not bow. Bengal remembers. Bengal resists.
And Bengal will never, ever allow a Bangla-birodhi force to decide our future.

After a long wait, justice has finally prevailed. The Central Government has agreed, on humanitarian grounds, to bring back pregnant Sunali Khatun and her minor son.
She was illegally deported to Bangladesh merely for speaking Bengali, and her ordeal across the border stands as a stark example of why BJP is called Bangla-Birodhi Zamindars.
Before the Division Bench of the Hon’ble Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, the relentless fight of this poor woman ultimately found victory. During its observations, the Court strongly criticised the deportation and made several significant remarks:
- The Central Government proposed to bring Sunali Khatun to Delhi. The Court rejected this and directed that she be sent directly to her ancestral home in Birbhum.
- The State government has been asked to take care of Sunali's treatment. Birbhum district administration and the Chief Medical Officer of Health (CMOH) have been instructed to ensure proper medical care for Sunali, who is in the advanced stage of pregnancy.
- The Court raised serious questions regarding her nationality, stating that if Sunali’s biological father is an Indian citizen and has not been deported, there is no basis to label Sunali a Bangladeshi. Under Indian law, since her father is Indian, Sunali is automatically an Indian citizen, and therefore her son is also an Indian citizen.
I extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who stood beside this distressed family during their darkest hours, especially to our Hon’ble Chief Minister @MamataOfficial and AITC National General Secretary @abhishekaitc for their continuous and unwavering support.
