Yesterday at the x-country meet we had an athlete stop and walk with an opponent when he got hurt. Made for one proud and emotional dad at the finish-line :) This story and the compassion Jordan showed caused a beautiful ripple effect at our school today. #psslearning#physed
The kids have been losing their minds this week over the game “Asteroids”. Save your planet from attack by using the yellow rockets to deflect the asteroid and send it across your opponents’ line. Fun!! #PSSLearning#physed
The gang’s all here! Thanks Mr. Allen for climbing bravely onto the roof to get this shot! And for not dropping my phone off said roof. #psslearning#TerryFoxRun
Great weather and all smiles for our Terry Fox run/walk today! What a beautiful reason to come together as a whole school community and get outside for some movement time! Thanks Terry! #psslearning#physed#TerryFoxRun
Because of the weather today, the Fredericton area schools cross-country meets have been cancelled. Athletes from our team should follow their regular Wednesday afternoon routine. Fingers-crossed for great weather next week! #psslearning
Fitness! Coordination! Timing! Footwork! Non-verbal communication! The Figure-8 Warm-up Run packs a lot of targets into one activity. #psslearning#physed
5 Benson experimented today with blackout glasses! The challenge: create an obstacle course and then lead your partner successfully through it using verbal and non-verbal communication. An astute observation from one student - “It’s just like coding!” #PSSLearning#physed
Coupla shots of our grade five cross-country team post-race. Most of these kids have been dedicated to the team for the previous two years; now they’re our leaders :) #psslearning
The first race of the year is under their belts! Lots of dramatic finishes and nothing but smiles :) Overheard comment from a grade five runner - “I’m so proud of myself!” Nice! #psslearning#physed
I'm so excited about the enthusiasm this group of kids is showing at every cross-country practice!! Can't wait to see them run at our first meet Wednesday afternoon! #psslearning#physed
@supportREALtchr Yes those were our follow-up discussion points! Along with different motivation-styles and the importance of being mindful of tone. I had more than a couple students remove themselves from this activity for one reason or another - which we also carefully discuss. Thanks!
Grade 5s working on team-building and communication with "Helium Hoop"! The goal is to rest the hoop on two fingers and bring it down to the floor without anyone losing contact. Harder than it looks! We worked a lot on speaking nicely to our teammates :) #physed#psslearning
First cross-country practice of the year!! 60+ strong (and likely more to come)! We'll welcome new members all next week! Open to any students in grades 3-5. #psslearning#physed
