@nvolpewild Same thing in beautiful Cape Range national park as fires push a sea of buffel into spectacular haitat for spinifex birds, rufous crowned emu wrens and rock wallabys among others
The end begins now.🚨
I am not being dramatic.
Buffel Grass is worse for the environment than every feral animal combined. ❌
These photos only taken 5 years apart from my visit to Central Australia.
Australia boasts the most biodiverse arid eco-systems on earth, mainly due to Spinifex grass (pictured left). Now it is ALL Buffel Grass.
Every single fire now spreads Buffel even more. Central Australia is burning more and hotter than it ever has right now as we speak.
This should have been a national priority years ago. Pastoralists are still spreading and trading this grass as it is not even listed as a weed.
@tanya_plibersek get your head out of the sand, stand up to the cattle industry and SAVE our most biodiverse eco-systems!
I am going to witness a complete collapse in my life-time and it is unthinkable what the next generation will face.
Ch-ch-ch-CHUDITCH! 🐾
That’s what our team at Eurardy Reserve in WA have been exclaiming following the exciting discovery of a #WesternQuoll (or #Chuditch in Noongar language) for the first time EVER!

@Dr_Rob_Davis @D0CT0R_Dave @BushHeritageAus Depending on what's in season and with enough notice, yes @Dr_Rob_Davis I will find a venomous animal to put in your room **subject to availability, terms, conditions and a small surcharge will apply**
@DianneCostin @Wolfie_Rankin @BushHeritageAus It’s part of the family that has Australia’s most venomous snakes but this species is considered probably harmless
