Volunteers Week 2025!!
To celebrate this year’s National Volunteers' Week we’re hosting open sessions across Newcastle’s parks in the first week of June to showcase the variety of opportunities there are to support your local green spaces. (cont.)
We’re also teaming up with partners at @ouseburntrust , Wild Ouseburn & Natural History Society of Northumbria who will be joining us for certain sessions to provide insight into how volunteering in the parks provides better habitats & environments for local wildlife to thrive.
Thank you to @NewcastleCC’s parks team for their work this week organising litterpicks around our city’s green spaces.
Pleasure to join in Harbottle and St Lawrence Park in Byker, chatting to residents on how to improve our parks for people (old & young) and nature. Lots to do!
Join us for light refreshments & taster sessions from all our Springbank Pavilion providers; Curious Arts , GemArts , Chilli Studios & Moving Parts Arts .
As well as a selection of yoga, tai chi, meditation, sound bathing, wellbeing sessions & music from Ceitidh, Simon & Rapasa!
Join us for The Big Litter Pick!
As part of Keep Britain Tidy 's Spring Clean, next week, we are organising over 25 litter picks in parks across the city....

Amber Weather Warning: Storm Éowyn - High Winds
Newcastle has been issued an Amber weather warning by the Met Office for storm conditions and predicted high winds (up to 80mph) tomorrow, Friday 24th January.
Tomorrow’s volunteering sessions will also be cancelled alongside sessions planned for Saturday, to allow our parks team to carry out post-storm checks. We apologise for any inconvenience.
Please take extra care if you are visiting Newcastle’s parks over the weekend as the ground and pathways may be slippery/icy underfoot.
