These new hoses and nozzles will be rolled out (pun intended) over the next few week to each station/company. Through their efforts and that of Chief Lasky and Asst. Chief Kashi we were able to save our taxpayers thousands of dollars.
The PFD grant application crew did it again! Through their efforts we were able to secure grant funding to purchase new hose and nozzles to replace our much used and aging fire hoses.
Soon after the previous fire, PFD crews, with the assistance of mutual aid departments, responded to another structure fire in a residence. While we were working the fire several area departments came to our aid for the myriad of other calls we had in the city.

PFD Crews responded to Wellington Ave this afternoon for a detached garage fire. First due Engine crew found a fully involved garage fire. The intense heat melted the vinyl siding on the home.
Crews attacked the fire aggressively and had the blaze extinguished within minutes.
We hope you will join us in remembering the lost and offer our collective prayer that they will rest in peace and that their families can take solace in the fact that they lost their lives to save others.
Rest easy, brothers; your watch has ended.
Today is National Fallen Firefighters Day. On this day, communities across our Nation honor and salute those firefighters that lost their lives in service to their fellow man.
