SB 79 is a mandatory Civil Death penalty- say NO!
SB 123 must be amended to require the jury to adhere to sentencing guidelines, if not amended then say NO!
Here it is, the important #SecondLook legislation patroned by @CarrieCoyner, to establish a petition process for people serving excessively long sentences and demonstrating good conduct to have their sentences re-considered by the court that gave the original sentence.
VA abolished parole in 1995 and offers almost no mechanisms to review sentences or provide second chances to incarcerated Virginians who have worked diligently to grow, change, and repay their debt to society.
