@nataliebargery I don’t know why, but it just sort of feels right to me. It makes sense in our current state, he’ll want to prove something, not just to our fans but to everyone, I just hope it goes right for him & us now🤞Last season at Goodison, it just feels right. Almost poetic, hopefully!🙏
Motherwell/Hearts…
VAR to ref - “That’s a penalty”
Ref to VAR - “No, it’s not”
Motherwell/Celtic
VAR to ref - “That’s a penalty”
Ref to VAR - “Is it? Aye, okay then”
Frightening.
@ejefc28@Benjwinst If Bowen is obtainable, then perhaps, but that doesn’t mean George wouldn’t be a great signing…. And he could go on to double the investment in the long run. Not signing him when we had a chance would be a huge miss imo.
George might be another ‘one that got away’ looking at this.
With such little game time with us, hard to see him agreeing to sign if Alonso wants him.
Hope that’s not the case, as he’s such an exciting talent.
🚨🔵 EXCL | Tyrique George has been told he will not be going out on loan this summer, and the decision came directly from Alonso.
The 19-year-old attacker was expected to follow the standard Chelsea academy-to-loan pipeline. Alonso ended that conversation before it could begin. He watched George’s cup appearances from this season and told Cobham staff the winger has “an unusual understanding of space for his age.”
George will be in first-team training from day one of preseason. He won’t start Premier League matches immediately. But Alonso wants him in the environment, absorbing the system.
Another Leverkusen principle applied at Chelsea, develop from within, in-house, under direct supervision. George’s representatives are quietly thrilled. #CFC
@TFinnAgain@abdoudoucoure16 I’ll never forget how it felt when Goodison literally shook as that went in! Halftime felt horrible, Bournemouth trying to destroy our hopes after the goal was horrible, but when that hits the back of the net, sheer jubilation and relief. Not sure I breathed again till full time!
Everton 25/26
More VAR mistakes (3) on pens than pens (2)
Only club in 7 years of VAR not to benefit from an overturn
No opposition player booked for a foul in the last 7 games (60 fouls)
Also, just 7 pens in 3 seasons (same as Leeds who spent 2 of those in the Cship)
Everton had more Everton players sent off for fouling Everton players this season than opposition players dismissed for fouling Everton players…You’ll never sing that
Outrageous this. We’re just officiated very differently & at both ends.
The facts don’t lie. You have to commit a crime to get booked against us, yet we go near a player & a yellow is out.
As for VAR🤦🏻♂️ We don’t get pens, but quick to give them against us & it’s often wrong.
@nataliebargery Agreed, those two performances have been particularly alarming. There’s been so many lapses in concentration, individual errors, and players looking jaded, yet nothing was changed. Just churn and repeat. All very odd and so disappointingly familiar.
Watching the game today with a non Everton fan.
He said, ‘who’s that playing right back?’. I said, ‘he’s one of our centre backs’.
The ln he said, ‘who’s that fella on the right wing?’. ‘Merlin Rohl’, I said, ‘he’s our centre mid’.
He looked at me & I said ‘ Everton’.
Mostly shocked that we actually managed to have a shot at goal in that match, but suppose George does bring that to the team, shame he doesn’t get much of a look in.
Utterly depressing end of the season. What happened to us after the international break? Just a shambles since.
