I am thrilled to finally be able to reveal this amazing project I've been working on with @DCComicsKids. I wrote a Batman graphic novel! And it's available Feb 7, 2023! #bucketlist#batman https://t.co/HCvcEYUzOH
We had an amazing time welcoming author Nell Choi @myhospitalstory to talk about her experience in the hospital and the process of writing books. She is a NATURAL and had our C formers on the edge of their seats!!
Lower School students couldn’t have been more excited to hear from @AuthorStuGibbs!!! Many of them mentioned how amazing it was that his ideas come from real life inspiration. Hopefully he doesn’t get a writing cramp signing the 230 books that our students brought!
Best part of book club today - Student: "Mrs. Conlin I was so into this book that I forgot to stop reading at the bookmark! Don't worry - I won't share any spoilers!" Thanks @MollyOstertag for writing engaging stories that pull our students in!
@lenoreva spoke to the A formers about the process of becoming a writer and the hidden elements in her book. She reminded the bulldogs not to get stuck in a trope, like her character does, and to explore and appreciate all the parts of who they are!
Form I had a wonderful time learning about the power of stories and were on the edge of their seats hearing about Scars Like Wings and The Words We Keep by @Erin_N_Stewart
Congratulations to Team Cocomelon in the CBA division and Team Ouagadougou in the A/I/II division for their hard work on the spring reading lists and spring sprint. Your enthusiasm was infectious! I can’t wait to celebrate with you all @OpenCityDC !!
Ask your son about the library assembly for #DeafHistoryMonth and the facts he learned, but most importantly, the deep thinking he was asked to consider! @StAlbans_STA
Rain or shine we will sprint this spring! Mr. Brockway‘s class had lots of fun participating in Spring Sprint and the “Good Stuff Bois” are currently in first place!! @StAlbans_STA
“…a hero is an ordinary human being who does ‘the best of things in the worst of times.’” The end of a powerful book club with a great group of boys. New book club sign ups will be posted after break!
All of the books are available in the library (print AND ecopies), but you may also find the books in your public library. You are welcome to purchase the books as well. If you’d like a copy of the spring reading list, stop by the library on your way back to class!
As we wrap up this week, don't forget that Spring Sprint will take place during the first library class after break (optional)! Rules are in the comments and book lists below. Click on this link to find printable and clickable lists! https://t.co/o5Atwn60Bh
Spring Sprint will be a competition that takes place during your first library class after spring break. It will involve running, physical activities and answering questions about books on the spring reading list.
The spring reading list and spring sprint are optional, but there are no negatives to competing. Also similar to last time, Form II will have a coordinating assignment in English class, so there’s no harm in starting your reading early!
