Pre Moses believers , Jews, and Christians have always believed that we are saved by faith, in The savior.
Job is one of the oldest book sin the Bible, pre Jews, and he makes this point obvious .
Job 19:25 For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: 26 And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:
Old Testament :
Hab 2:4 ....the just shall live by his faith.
New Testament :
Gal 3:11 ....The just shall live by faith.
Salvation has always been the same.
Old Testament looking forward to Jesus
New Testament fulfillment by Jesus
Relationship, Adoption, Inheritance are key components.
Jesus paid for our sins—everyone’s sins, correct (1 John 2:2).
But it’s only for everyone who accepts the gift:
John 1:12 ...all who received him, those believing in his name, he gave authority to become God's children...
When you accept it, how do you receive it? By the Spirit of adoption as sons :
Rom 8:15....you have received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, "Abba! Father!"
becoming heirs of God :
Rom 8:17.....Now if we are children, we are heirs—heirs of God
Jesus—the second Adam, a real man with God’s Spirit:
1 Cor 15:45...The last Adam became a life-giving spirit
He passed His inheritance to us at His death, exactly like a "will" that only takes effect when the one who made it dies:
Heb 9:16 For where there is a will, the death of the one who made it must be established. 17 For a will is in force only when somebody has died, since it never takes effect as long as the one who made it is alive. 18 This is why even the first covenant was not put into effect without blood
Those who do not receive it are not covered, because whoever does not believe is condemned already:
John 3:18...t whoever does not believe has already been condemned, because he has not believed in the name of God's unique Son.
This is why God had to become a Man also:
Col 2:9 because all the essence of deity inhabits him in bodily form.
Becasue Jesus is God we can inherit access to the kingdom of God:
Mathew 25:34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world
Not really, everyone in Egypt had the option of marking there home, and having there first born spared.
Exodus 12:22-23 Take a bunch of hyssop, dip it into the blood in the basin and put some of the blood on the top and on both sides of the doorframe... When the Lord goes through the land to strike down the Egyptians, he will see the blood on the top and sides of the doorframe and will pass over that doorway, and he will not permit the destroyer to enter your houses and strike you down.
What god is named Sabbath ?
1 Corinthians 16:2 — “On the first day of every week,
*“Κατὰ μίαν σαββάτων”**
(kata mian sabbatōn)
→ “On the first [day] of the week / of the Sabbaths”
That’s 1 Corinthians 16:2 — the FINAL verse in the entire Bible that names a day of the week.
Every other “weekday” reference in Scripture is just:
- “first day”
- “second day”
- “Sabbath” (7th day)
@temxcodes@EmagnetTim Pharaoh had free will for most of the story. Pharaoh hardened his own heart the first couple of times. There seems to be a pattern, where people cross the line of no return, and God in a way pushes them all in, for a purpose .
@Oluwadaniel_0 Have you ever studied what we believe ? No one makes that claim ????
We believe Jesus is a real mans body , and His Spirit is God. His Body is a literal Son of God (direct creation just like Adam).
Col 2:9 because all the essence of deity inhabits him in bodily form.
@EmagnetTim God knew it would happen , and that it did. The question your asking is why does God let us have free will. If God stops us, before we can fail, we have no free will , or we don't last very long...
It's a valid question, I struggled with it for a while as well.
The question is also why did God have to become a man also ? Jesus is a real man , with God for His Spirit .
Most know Jesus died on the cross as the last sacrifice, to pay the debt of sin. But how did the payment transfer to us?
Inheritance , this is why God became a man, like Adam. We inherit access to the Kingdom of God, and we inherit the payment for sin, because when Jesus died His inheritance was transferred to the Line of Adam, all of us.
This is also why Jesus could not marry or have kinds, because the inheritance would have gone to them instead.
@___TheGOOdWitch I think time is the core issue. Current science says the Big Bang created time. How do you have a cause outside of time? Outside time you either always exist or never.
I respectfully disagree
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Gen 1:4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
In Genesis we see God separated Light from darkness. My guess is the Bibe is describing the spectrums. What is visible and not.
@athiestboi Correct, God created evil.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Adam was a direct creation of God. Angels are also . both Adam and Angels are labeled Sons of God. Jesus , the Man part, is a direct creation of God, virgin birth... By contrast we are all sons of Adam.
This is why you see the language for Jesus like the "last Adam".
1Co 15:45 This, indeed, is what is written: "The first man, Adam, became a living being." The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.
A core concept is adoption and inheritance. God became a real man also, as Jesus. A real man, but His Spirit is God.
When Jesus died, His inheritance went to the next closest relative Adam, effectively mankind.
This is how we inherit access to Heaven\God Kingdom...
God is our Father , it's all about relationship.
Gal 4:4 But when the appropriate time had come, God sent his Son, born by a woman, born under the Law, 5 in order to redeem those who were under the Law, and thus to adopt them as his children.
Eph 1:5 he predestined us for adoption to himself through Jesus the Messiah, according to the pleasure of his will,
