We had our own version of Sesame Street but USAID was mostly helpful when it came to innoculation programs, family planning, food distribution and English learning stuff. I honestly have no idea why there is such an opposition to these programs. I'm an American now and while you think they harm America, it is a very small price to pay for good will. Like the entire spending we've done in the last 100 days in this war with Iran would probably equal the budget of USAID for the last 5 years! Don't you think that is crazy?

They weren't leftist. They were very much aligned with the right wing forces in my country. They tended to skew towards free market capitalism and neo liberal economic policies.

I will say this: USAID has always been seen as an extension of American interests. They are definitely not Communist, or leftist for that matter.

I don't think so. I grew up in a country that was served by USAID and they were very much an extension of American soft power, regardless of administration.

In fact local Communist parties in my country detested the USAID and what they stood for, which was definitely NOT Communism.

Numerous times is disingenuous at best and East Jerusalem was never really on the table. Regardless, do you think the current administration in Israel, which has been in power for over a decade now, has any interest in peace? FYI you should look up the Arab Peace Initiative, which Israel has repeatedly rejected, and which every single member of the Arab League ratified. Hamas even supported it.
