I have never been exposed to more stomach turning stories about sexual abuse in my almost 7 decades, than since Trump came on the national stage. And they all seem to be his friends. Every single one without exception.
This is development you’re talking about. Money came into real estate and got reinvested into the bubble. The profits were turned into bigger projects and are about to be worth zero. That money has disappeared. We need industries that invest into a product or service that is sold externally for profit.
What you’re talking about is the development model, which was, and is, broken. BC needs a reset. We need people to make things that people, elsewhere; want that’s not property
Governments need to incentivize money to be put to work locally. Not all business owners are evil. Every one of my employees/colleagues that have been with me for over five years, owns a home. I keep all my operating company profits in a financial portfolio. I would prefer to put my money to work in other businesses. It’s fun, and more rewarding, but it doesn’t make sense here. There’s zero incentive.
Multiply this over thousands of businesses…
People think we have a bad spending problem with British Columbia. Wait until you see the revenue problem coming our way
@BitterDan@coaks604@KarmSumal@ChesterM222 What can you re invest in with red tape and tax rates where they are?
BC should be a resource/ Tech superpower and we are not. We are where we are because our top sectors are development and government. No fuel for the fire.
There’s nothing else that explains BCs issues than this
To actually fund public sector jobs (which are fine to have), you need to grow the private sector to actually fund it
