As Senior Advocate Harish Salve has pointed out, the US DOJ found no national security impact, no significant US nexus, and no organised crime link to justify prosecuting Gautam Adani. Exploring options during negotiations is not an admission of guilt.

And for someone who is a lawyer, you should know better than to conflate settlement discussions with proof of culpability. That’s basic legal practice.

Gautam Adani clearly stated under oath that there was no promise, no agreement and no deal linked to the DOJ's decision. The DOJ itself also said the proposed US investment had nothing to do with seeking dismissal.

Even former US federal prosecutor Jim Walden says the case lacked US jurisdiction and that dismissal is the only logical outcome.
