Jenni Kayne is a cashmere brand. $325 sweaters, cozy cardigans, that quiet-luxury thing. so the funniest detail in their May data, per @ParticlHQ: one of their best sellers was a $195 straw hat 👇
it's peak sunscreen season, and one brand isn't just winning the category. it's lapping it.
per @ParticlHQ, Supergoop does multiples of the next DTC sunscreen brand down. it's not close.
and the reason why is a lesson every brand in a boring category should steal 👇

BFCM sales are well underway.
Some early thoughts👇
Brands that are still holding out are suffering.
Ones who launched early are seeing a bounce.
Don't forget, last year sales started earlier than ever bc of the shortened holiday shopping szn.
Consumers are accustomed now to see sales in late Oct, even early November.
If you're still holding out, good chance so are your potential customers. If those prospective customers see a sale from your competitor now, good chance you'll lose that sale.
There's a lot you need to consider this BFCM:
- Consumer Sentiment is at a 3-yr low
- Tighter margins bc of tariffs
- Merchandising strategy to focus on profit & incremental sales
- Creative diversity even on sale creatives to reach broader audiences
@ParticlHQ recently published its BFCM 2025 Executive Planning guide.
Free sauce in there that you can draw a lot of insights from based on a pool of 1k brands they tracked in Q4 the past 2 years.

Most brands guess.
The smart ones ask their AI analyst.
Today I tested @ParticlHQ, an AI that tracks 40B+ retail transactions and lets you ask questions like:
“How many promotions did SKIMS run in July?”
In seconds, it breaks down every campaign, product launch, and pricing move across 10,000+ competitors.
It’s like having a Wall Street analyst for e-commerce.

I've watched brands slash margins to 50% off, thinking it drives more sales.
After analysing performance data from 1,000+ brands across last year's holiday season, the truth is brutal.
Most discount strategies are backwards (here's what actually works): 🧵
How many of these luxury collab products do brands actually sell online?
Kith x Armani - barely any, this builds Kith's brand equity
Neighborhood x Malbon - quick 50-100 unit drops designed to sell out to fans
Skims x Cavalli - 7 figure sales offering access to luxury at a lower price point
On x Loewe - thousands of pairs of of $590 shoes, but little to no demand for athleisure
All of this data is from Particl, report on collabs with them, below.
That sinking feeling when you realize your campaign has been tanking for days and you had no idea...
Meanwhile, an AI analyst caught the error within 2 hours and automatically flagged it.
This is competitive intelligence that used to take WEEKS of manual research…now it's instant.
With Particl, you get real data on:
👉 Exact promotion schedules
👉 Product launch timelines
👉 Market performance vs individual brand performance
👉 What's actually working in their category
Founders are still living in the stone age of manual reporting while AI processes insights in real-time.
Imagine having the superpower to be able to predict problems before they become expensive mistakes…
That’s why I'm a #proudpartner with @ParticlHQ, because waiting for insights is the same as waiting to lose money.
I have said this a few times now but I actively pay for a few apps that I look at and use daily and weekly and monthly.
Been a fan of @ParticlHQ for almost a year now and finally got to stear some of their recent content pieces in their newsletter exploding retail
There’s this trend happening right now, and to be honest it’s BEEN happening.
You’ve probably seen the decline in alcohol consumption by generation circulating the internet but this is bigger than just alcohol. Beverage, RTD, powder or liquid formulation is going to continue to expand as it is one of the core products we have with us throughout the day.
The best part is, you don’t have to educate people on how to drink, you just have to give them the chance to try it.
We went in on the Beverages and Better For You Drink space - a space that is very very hot right now. Linked it below.
Email Marketers:
This data is actually INSANE!
I was researching the SKIMS brand for inspiration for a client and was checking their daily revenue for the last 90 days.
And I noticed significant daily revenue spikes from July 24th through August 3rd.
I then went to cross-reference what happened on those specific days to see if I could reverse engineer this same success for my client.
And I figured out that on July 24th, they launched their End of Summer Sale.
More specifically, this was the offer I found they were promoting:
Shop up to 50% off signature swim and summer wardrobe staples during our End of Season Sale!
You can see some of the emails, social posts, and ads here:
Here’s the full sale announcement email from July 24th:
The main reason for the significant spike on July 24th was that it was the day the sale was first launched. As we all know, whenever something that people want goes on sale, you’ll likely see a large increase in sales.
Another important thing they did was prime their audience for the sale the day before.
They did this by posting about the sale starting tomorrow on Instagram and also sent an email, so everyone was informed. This way, come the big day, people are ready and excited to take advantage of it.
Hats off to SKIMS for the big push across their owned and paid channels, which made this End of Summer sale a huge success.
I was reluctant to share the source from which I pulled all of this data and insight, but my friends at @ParticlHQ convinced me to share the good word.
I’ve been a proud Particl user + paid advocate of theirs for a while now.
The data and insights it provides to my agency have been instrumental in helping us reverse-engineer the success that big brands are having, but for our own clients.
P.S. One of my favorite recent things that Particl has added to their platform is their new AI Analyst. It’s helping me get answers to questions I’m having around things like:
What are the top-selling products in a given market?
What is driving sales at one of your competitors?
What kind of promotions are Beauty brands running this month?
Most brands are flying blind with competitor research.
Checking websites manually.
Screenshot pricing.
Guess the inventory.
Meanwhile, competitors are pulling ahead using data they can’t see.
Here’s the thing.. winning brands aren’t smarter. They just have better intel.
That’s why @ParticlHQ AI Analyst is a game-changer.
Instead of hunting competitor data across dozens of sites, just ask:
“Show me Lululemon’s top sellers”
“Which brands are discounting right now”
“Find fastest growing skincare companies”
AI pulls from: 600M SKUs from $500B tracked revenue over 40B transactions
While you manually check competitor sites, smart brands ask their AI:
-What products should we launch?
-Where are white space opportunities?
-Which promos actually work?
-What inventory should we clear?
One query = weeks of manual research.
10,000+ brands already have this intelligence advantage!
Official inflation statistics do not accurately reflect real life
