Being called "mature" or "a good listener" as an AUTISTIC/ADHD person usually means one thing:
I was performing customer service mode the entire time — smiling, nodding, translating their words in my head, while quietly burning out.
It’s not maturity. It’s survival mode with extra steps.
Drop 🧡 if that's you
so like what are you supposed to do when someone seems to get off on making you overthink and spiral
constantly implying shit is wrong with you but never elaborating, "oh you know" no the fuck i dont
"everyone who knows you knows how you are" HOW AM I?
I still give detailed explanations a lot; I just try to tailor how much detail I give in a situation to the situation, to help facilitate greater understanding.
Of course I still see giving detailed explanations as an equally valid way of communicating, and I don’t dislike my inclination to be wordy; I have just come to realise that at times saying less can help other people to understand me more.
As a result, I frequently find myself trying to determine the optimal amount of words to use in a given situation that will give me the best chance of being accurately understood.
…when this happens, they [mostly/only] focus on a small part of what has been said that stands out to them.
So, while giving detailed explanations can at times provide clarity and help prevent misunderstandings, at other times it can have the opposite effect.

being neurodivergent is WILD because you can be deeply intelligent, deeply creative, and deeply capable..and still be unable to answer a simple email for 3 fucking days.

Bro I'm so sick of pretending this isn't weird.
The internet spent 20 years creating tutorials, open-source projects, blog posts & answers for free.
AI companies turned all of it into products worth billions.
And now the same people who created that knowledge are being told they're replaceable.
