“Guys guys instead of developing that corner lot into a 5 over 1 (that I’m terrified will make my street parking harder) howabout we build skyscrapers on a toxic waste dump with no transit or bridges”
It’s pretty (as AI goes) and places like Copenhagen have successfully redeveloped similar-ish plots, but honestly it feels like the Hyperloop of SF housing: a fantasy meant to distract from existing efforts to build housing where people actually want to be
I’ve got great news for you
We can accomplish more than a quarter of California’s state-wide housing goals by developing just one plot of federally owned land.
Exactly 0 people live on it today. It’s a peninsula in the Bay Area. This is the “other place” where you can build!
New Yorkers with 16 or more speeding violations will now have to install devices in their cars to limit their driving speeds.
The device will use GPS tracking to restrict how fast the car can drive to the posted speed limit.
The device will be wired into the vehicle's onboard computer.
If drivers refuse to install the device, their registrations will be revoked after 45 days.
@AlwaysThinkHow@XavierBecerra Indeed they do and that’s why I started the campaign assuming Becerra was the right choice. But he’s run a pretty bad campaign, and Steyer keeps saying the right things. It’s why I’ve been torn. But I gotta trust my ears 🤷
Honestly I get the anti Steyer arguments: billionaire, no experience, etc. But I haven’t heard him give a wrong answer to pretty much any question so far which is more than I can say for any other candidate 🤷
Tom Steyer: “I’m totally in favor of trans athletes in high school. When you understand the vulnerability, the stress, the danger of being a trans kid and you understand almost half of them try to commit suicide. Then you think we’re gonna punish those kids, we’re gonna cut them off from team sport. It’s like, no we’re not”
@briebriejoy Probably so. I guess I’m thinking I’d like to give my vote to one of the top 2 dems at this point. Maybe not the right way to think about it 🤷
@writeinfreedom Yeah that does give me pause. But does Becerra have some super awesome executive experience that trumps all the not-so-great answers he’s been giving? I admit I’ve been on the fence here…
My unpopular opinion is that Biden’s econ team achieved their stated goal of world class Covid recovery, avoided recession (once thought inevitable), prioritized employment, navigated global inflation, and delivered benefits to the working class. it’s just that voters hated it.

@VintandYork OK taking this to Twitter. Been waiting for glasses for 4 months and every email I send gets a “just one more week” response. Are you guys a real company or an internet scam?
“Why don’t you just eat fucking ramen everyday? Just eat peanut butter and ramen for 50 years dumbass and invest all your money into the pico top of the gayest most fragile empire in history you dumbass idiot. Just starve and eat shit and dirt everyday for your entire life and then you can spend $30 on lunch when you’re old and about to die it’s simple. Don’t you know your 20’s are for grinding?? You’re supposed to eat shit for the majority of your life that’s why your ancestors built America. So you could eat shit and fucking die moron.”
I think a lot of people don't know that LAX is owned by the City of LA with a board appointed by the mayor and that Karen Bass hasn't done jack shit to fix the people mover project.
Ballots are going out now. Vote for Nithya Raman for a city that works.
I know I’ve maybe been saying this for other reasons lately, but now seeing this horror I can say with complete confidence, “burn the US and start over”
I discovered a disturbing fact about the Montana-Wyoming-South Dakots tri-state border.
And it is that South Dakota's western border is not a straight line.
I know this is the tiniest hill to die on but American transit agencies: station names don’t need to be intersections!!! They can just be the cross street, or a neighborhood name or whatever “Cockfosters” is. At the very least it saves space on maps
