The Islamic regime arrested former Iranian national team goalkeeper Rashid Mazaheri and threw him into solitary confinement in Urmia Prison.

For more than a decade, Rashid defended Iran's goal. He proudly wore the national team jersey and represented millions of Iranians on the international stage.

Then, in February 2026, he did something even more courageous.

After the Islamic regime's deadly crackdown on the January 2026 protests, Rashid publicly called Ali Khamenei "a dark and passing chapter in Iran's history."

That single post cost him his freedom.

Today, he is being held in solitary confinement under harsh conditions while his wife Maryam desperately pleads for his release. His only "crime" was speaking the truth and standing with the Iranian people.

Rashid Mazaheri is not a criminal.

He is a patriot.

Iran’s regime just sentenced a 22-year-old rapper to death.

Not for murder. Not for terrorism. For slogans, dissent, for refusing to shut up. Simply for demanding freedom and protesting against oppression.

His name is Mehnam Navab-Safavi. He was arrested, forced to confess, denied a real trial, and now faces execution.

And somehow the international community still treats Iran’s rulers like difficult diplomats instead of what they are: executioners with embassies and good lobbyists in the West.

In the past two weeks alone, at least 50 protesters have reportedly had death sentences issued, upheld, or carried out.

So I call on all rappers, singers, celebrities who post ten slides about free speech, now please be his voice. Because this is free speech with a noose around its neck.

Please use your platform and demand that Iran’s regime stop the execution of Mehnam Navab-Safavi.

L'annulation d'un concert, quel que soit l'artiste concerné, me pose un vrai problème de principe.

On peut être profondément bouleversé par la situation à #Gaza , condamner les souffrances des civils, comme on peut condamner avec la même fermeté les atrocités commises le 7 octobre. Ces drames ne devraient jamais être instrumentalisés.

Mais en France, on ne devrait jamais empêcher un artiste d'exercer son métier sous la pression ou parce que son origine, sa religion, son identité ou ses opinions réelles ou supposées ne plaisent pas à certains.

La liberté d'expression et de création existe dans le respect de la loi. Elle ne consiste pas à laisser parler uniquement ceux avec qui nous sommes d'accord. Elle protège aussi ceux dont les idées ou les convictions nous dérangent.

À force de vouloir faire taire plutôt que convaincre, on fragilise ce qui fait la force de notre démocratie : le débat, le pluralisme et l'État de droit.

Débattre, oui. Manifester, oui. Intimider, faire pression ou censurer, non. Renoncer à ces principes, quelle que soit la cause défendue, c'est toujours faire reculer nos libertés.

Aujourd'hui, c'est un chanteur. Demain, ce pourrait être n'importe quel artiste, écrivain, journaliste ou conférencier. La République ne peut pas accepter que l'on fasse taire quelqu'un en raison de son origine, de sa religion ou de ses opinions, dès lors qu'il s'exprime dans le cadre de la loi.

🚨 Iranians are forming armed groups to defend their communities and fight against the Islamic Republic.

The newly formed Qom Military Group, composed of families linked to the Javid-Naman-e Lor group, former political prisoners, and activists from Lor and Bakhtiari regions, has declared its support for the Lion and Sun Revolution.

The group says it is organizing to defend Iranians following the Islamic Republic’s massacre of more than 45,000 defenseless protesters in January.

It announced its formation on July 13, coinciding with the anniversary of the Bakhtiari conquest of Tehran, and vowed to stand against what it called the Islamic Republic’s “satanic regime.”
