@vikiacees@erbktan You're asking somebody to perpetually retain, obsessively self-audit, and willingly signal boost their past problematic and harmful content?
@badguyjunko@JimmyWhist30197@someguyTJ@1ncredibleMarz It's fair to criticize that. I also don't doubt he wasn't in the best place, especially if doxxing/threats are involved. Important to note this was also during a UTTP raid.
@TheUnionArmy3@1ncredibleMarz It's because this person in particular just wants to stir the pot. I don't think they actually care enough about due diligence or justice.
@badguyjunko@JimmyWhist30197@someguyTJ@1ncredibleMarz Precedent implies an ongoing issue where the severity doesn't decrease, which I really don't think is the case here. To be clear, I'm not keen on forcing anybody to accept any apology, but I am curious as to why you found it manipulative.
@Alexbander5@GavynKayne@1ncredibleMarz The stream jokes centered around an awkward situation, but admittedly went too far in the moment. This is why he apologized, both at the end of the stream and after it resurfaced years later. This is a far cry from a premeditated rap full of slurs.
@badguyjunko@JimmyWhist30197@someguyTJ@1ncredibleMarz That's why he didn't say a slur 7 years ago. It was joke aimed at the awkward situation that he admits went too far, and that's why he apologized. That's a FAR cry from a premeditated song full of slurs.
@badguyjunko@JimmyWhist30197@someguyTJ@1ncredibleMarz That kind of edgelord humor is often gradually trained/phased out over time as one grows. Is saying slurs when you're 14 then joking about mishearing a slur when you're 23 not a de-escalation?
@Alexbander5@GavynKayne@1ncredibleMarz You don't think the Jackbox stream was a significant de-escalation from him saying slurs in a rap when he was 14? Edgy humor is gradually trained/phased out over time. It's not an on/off switch.
@aesoshiparty@1ncredibleMarz That'd be better than being useless and cruel today. But keep mistaking your snarky Twitter clout game for social progress all you want, I guess.
@dearlefanu@Saammuel He literally does that in the first post , both at the end of the first paragraph and again at the end of the post. Are you just upset at the specific wording?
@aesoshiparty@1ncredibleMarz I'm directing my message at reasonable people. Not people who want to ruin somebody's life despite having done nothing with theirs over, at this point, literal ancient history.
It's great to see how the large majority of people discussing the recent Amazing Digital Circus situation with Michael Kovach and his "rap song", where he says the N-word, & claims of his racist deviantart, have failed to do the bare minimum research & include his responses where he apologizes for the rap & claims the account got hacked.
@dearlefanu@Saammuel Just be honest and say no apology for any mistake he's ever made will ever be enough. What more do you want than saying what he did was harmful, apologizing for said harm, and saying he'd try to improve?
@minniboe@polyfraggrenade He only described it as such when referring to how his younger self viewed it, while not understanding its severity. He explicitly says it's harmful and apologized. What more do you want?
Michael addressed this ages ago. His old deviantART was hacked sometime after he stopped using it, and the rap was done when he was 14. He apologized for the harm it had caused since. https://t.co/87fBc71E5t
