been thinking about this for a while...
(strictly my anecdotal experience, i could be wrong but im definitely right)
DJs seem to disregard the notion of ear fatigue... when you play 10 songs in a row, each with a strong constant vocal (even some melodies seem to have this effect) you're triggering the language sector (the part responsible for attentive listening) of the brain as your brain tries desperately to listen and/or comprehend it. a couple stripped back instrumentals in between can really help break up the need for the brain to focus and allow it to get lost in the rhythms of the drums/basslines... the stuff that is really responsible for putting you into that blissful state we all know and love.
