I guess you’re only allowed to have an opinion if it aligns with the masses.

Even though it’s pretty much 50/50 from what I’m seeing, if I have a negative take, I shouldn’t have it.

Literally being called a hater for being disappointed in MY FAVORITE GAME OF ALL TIME’s design. I’m allowed to have an opinion guys, even if it’s not sunshine and rainbows.

I think my main issue is that it is a remake of Ocarina of Time. If it was its own game, doing its own thing, I would probably wouldn’t mind it going its own direction. But because it’s remaking a foundational game in the series, it feels almost sacrilegious.

I’d just like to say, as someone who is on the side of disliking the art style in the OoT remake:

It is way too early to judge how it actually will look, but that small glimpse just didn’t fit the “aesthetic” I had in my mind.

It’s unfair to say it’s bad because I feel that way, and it’s also impossible to please everyone, especially when this is one of the biggest titles of all time.

The leak and rumors destroyed this announcement, because it was expected, and everyone had a predetermined idea of what it would have been, I personally was expecting a 3DS version but ported.

After looking at the image over and over (it’s literally all over the internet) I’m starting to notice the eyes are a little bigger and cartoonier than what I originally thought, and that alone is enough for me to realize i have to wait to see more, I’ve been saying it since this morning, and the over analyzing is making me have mixed emotions about something I dreamed about for years.

I know I’ll love the game, I already do. I want to have that nostalgia that I felt when I heard “a boy without a fairy” just before it cut to link. I know it’ll be magical, I think we all just need time with the new design for it to sink in, I’ve only ever imagined it one way, and like the 3DS version, it’s the art. Lizalfos are the best example of how different the art looked but it’s how I imagined it in my head.

The new design looked closer to FF7R than OoT, but again, I misjudged too soon, once we have more footage/art/etc. we will know if it’s closer/further away from the original designs.

Cloud looked like his art, as of right now, link doesn’t look like his, and that’s why I dislike it.
