@ojuaraonateac@Frozen_Afraid@Cinaboncrusader This was sort of what I was getting at. The use of EMHC are not a matter of tradition or doctrine, it's a discipline. The distinction is important.
@Frozen_Afraid@ojuaraonateac@Cinaboncrusader Except you are wrong we proved it to you with the bounds the church has placed on said topic. Listen I understand your aversion to trads but you're being no better by supporting the widespread use of something the Church intended on limiting.
@Frozen_Afraid@ojuaraonateac@Cinaboncrusader Anyway, my point is your diocese probably has similar rules on their websites and either your bishop/priest probably don't think this is a hill to die on or they don't care very much about the liturgy.
@Frozen_Afraid@ojuaraonateac@Cinaboncrusader Sunday Mass would always be over within an hour without them and this was a rural parish. This isn't even like the huge parishes in Indianapolis where they have a few hundred people at Mass and only a priest and maybe a deacon.
@Frozen_Afraid@ojuaraonateac@Cinaboncrusader I just posted the rules. They're only allowed in specific contexts. Most of the time, that criteria is not actually met. I've seen them used for daily Masses with like 30 people.
@Frozen_Afraid@ojuaraonateac@Cinaboncrusader Your diocese probably has their version of the rules related to EMHC on their website and they probably look something similar to this.
@Frozen_Afraid@ojuaraonateac@Cinaboncrusader Except that EMHC aren't part of tradition, they're a prudential exception to the rule. I'm not even against the idea in the context of a huge parish with one priest. However, it's disingenuous to pretend that the majority of the time they're not being overused.
@Scourgus Moreover, we have already banned things like chemical weapons and non FMJ ammunition. There certaintly already is precendent for everybody agreeing that certain types of weaponry shouldn't be used.
@josh_akemon@IncredPapist_ Bruh this is literally no different than rad trad larp encouraging whipping yourself for penance. Moreover, going by this there was no reason to create the Novus Ordo. The Liturgical Movement should had stopped being nerds and just sat through Mass.
@theblessedsalt This is also why I don't plan on encouraging a "TLM only" sort of behavior. Even amongst some of the children of trads that are still practicing, they end up being okay with lax liturgy just because the whole trad rabbit hole, however correct it may be, can be exhausting.
