My first touchdown in College Football 25 was exhilarating!
(And yes, I do run some of my offense out of broadcast. Not typically for downfield throws but I read this one right)
Going through the 49ers, Rams and then Patriots to win #SuperBowlLX was the dream run. Even ending it in the 49ers' stadium. Could not have scripted it better. Champions!!! #Seahawks
Need a documentary on the last 7 days in Seattle sports fandom. Mariners on fire, sweep Astros, win division for first time in 24 years, clinch bye, Cal hits #60. Seahawks go 2-0. Huskies roll in Apple Cup. All that was missing was the NBA announcing the return of the Sonics.
@footballenvrac Reading the defense before and right after the snap. I'm throwing where I think they'll be open based on what they are showing. Definitely does not always work like I hope! I generally use it more for underneath routes and screens. I also love running out of broadcast
A couple great throws from my first drive in College Football 26 on AA diff in broadcast view. It's a shame EA didn't make broadcast more playable - I thought they might after the interest people showed towards it last year.
Take note of how EA is promoting the upcoming football games. People wanted competition for Madden. It came in the form of College Football. Blew Madden out of the water last year. Now the marketing push is behind Madden. Have to see if that translates to effort and quality
@mccanehd@karian83 This is where it affects game design, however. They turn even non-online competitive modes into grinds that wear people down and make them feel like they need to spend more just to enjoy it. So you're paying a price in the end. It's either your dollars or your valuable time.
2K is by far the most responsible for ruining traditional sports gaming with harmful monetization practices that stretch to negatively influence game design. Say what you want about EA's mediocre games, but they've remained surprisingly restrained over the years in this area.
Sorry everyone, but I am cancelling my 12-hour #PGATOUR2K25 Launch Day Stream today.
Today was a day I was counting down to for months, a day for us to all celebrate the best golf game in this franchise's history and arguably ever. But unfortunately, all of that was derailed by greed. Yesterday's VC earnings nerf is not only exploitative but a slap in the face to anyone buying the game today, and I can't in good conscience sit in front of you for 12 hours supporting it.
Further more, I will not be streaming this game until this issue is either rolled back, or resolved in a sensible way.
I realize I am just a speck of sand on beach in the grand scheme of this, but sitting here letting waves crash on me isn't what I was built to do.
I appreciate all your support, and I hope you understand.
@karian83 Yeah I don't know that anyone is certain exactly what happened. It may have been that one, things kinda fit if that was the case, but I had also heard they had something more legit in the works that ultimately got scrapped.
We're back with a holiday edition of the Press Row Podcast! Discussing the game that mattered this year - College Football 25 - and our over a decade-in-the-making ACC Championship game in the dynasty. https://t.co/lJ0eq3PJLu
