I was honoured to represent H.E. @KagutaMuseveni at the Youth Convention in Kiruhura organised by Rt. Rev. Alfred Muhoozi, Bishop of the Church of Uganda’s, North Ankole Diocese, yesterday.
I conveyed the President’s appreciation to the Diocese for bringing young people together to reflect on faith, purpose, and potential. He emphasised that a healthy, skilled, and disciplined youth is Uganda’s greatest asset, and that government continues to reform the education sector to align training with skills demanded by the private sector.
He urged the youth to embrace ideas that will propel Uganda forward, noting that sectarianism, nepotism, gender chauvinism, and anarchism cannot take them—or the country—anywhere. He cautioned that youthfulness is a biological advantage that must be put to good use through hard work and productivity at an early age.
In my remarks, I encouraged the youth to use their energy wisely, live within their means, develop a culture of saving, put education at the centre of their lives, and stay grounded in faith. I also urged them to reject divisive ideas that derail progress.
Come 15th January, I called on them to turn up and vote to protect the gains for a stable and prosperous Uganda.
@6nightwatch@HEBobiwine Which people showed up?
He had just less than 100 people on his rally today .
We westerners we don't tolerate your shit .
We abandoned the rally.
@NINSIIMACOLEB95@VUKampala Yes, this will help you think more clearly so that next time you pay attention to details. Everything was clearly stated, yet your response showed careless reading. I would expect such comments from the uneducated, not from an educated person.
