Hope begins in the dark, the stubborn hope that if you just show up and try to do the right thing, the dawn will come. You wait and watch and work: you don’t give up.
House Rules...
Do you have any? Or any of those posters/signs that say what you believe (In this house we...; Hate has no home here...)?
If you were to make a list or a poster for what church rules might be, what would they be?
I've been thinking about these for awhile and I'm not sure where it's going... Is it a possible sermon series, a poster or sign, a way to live... I don't know yet....
Be relentlessly gentle with yourself. Listen to your body.
Breathe.
May we remember we’re not alone. We’ve never been alone. We’ll never be alone.
(I’m available if you need to talk, scream, vent, pray, sit in silence, eat cookies, or whatever you might need.)
Well… it’s the day after the election. And there are so many feelings. For about half of the people it is what they hoped and planned and worked for & for about half of the people it is the opposite of what they hoped and planned and worked for.
8.) Go for a walk (even in the rain is fine… ☂️)
9.) Support a local business today. ☕️🧁🍦
10.) Breathe.
9.) Pray again.
Be relentlessly gentle with yourself. Listen to your body.

Today (and probably the next few days) may be overwhelming.
1.) If you haven’t already— please go vote. (If you are working the polls today, thank you for your willingness to serve!)
2.) Take care of yourself.
3.) Get some rest.
4.) Drink some water.
7.) Reach out for help as you need. (I know this one is hard— if you need help connecting with someone for mental health or because you’ve been harassed at the polls or another reason... please ask. I’ll do my best to connect you somewhere if I can or find the people who can.)
I know that’s cringe and super millennial of me to wear ankle socks… but yall I just can’t wear like full socks. (Is that what the kids call them?)… I just need my ankles to breathe if my feet are all covered up.
I hope you understand…
I’m putting together a prayer calendar for 40 days before the election. What things would be important to you to pray for during this season. (Your suggestions may or may not be used…)
Steven and I told him our stories and experiences and I shared a little from the New York Memorial that I went to. It was a little surreal to be sharing about an historical event that I loved through to someone who has only lived in a post 9/11 world.
