We will keep working to make sure that vaccines are equitably available and that people in the communities that have suffered the most actually take the vaccines. We need that "blanket of protection" over our community, our country, and God's world.
So grateful that Pastor Gloria and I have been asked to be Community Ambassadors for Dimock Community Health Center. We can’t ask others to do what we’re not willing to do ourselves, so yesterday we received our first doses of the Moderna Vaccine.

An amazing testimony @ Annual Conf from Sharita Henderson-1 of 2 survivors of a Waffle House shooting n Apr 2018. Why did she forgive the shooter? "It takes too much energy to hate & I needed all my energy to heal." She also talked about trusting God & working for justice. Wow!
We’re marching down Blue Hill Ave and so many folks are honking or cheering in solidarity. We still have a lot of work to do, but I am tearing up because of the love and solidarity my hood is showing in support of trans lives. #BlackTransLivesMatter
Whatever roles God has called us to play, “let us not grow weary in doing what is right, for we will reap at harvest time, if we do not give up. (Galatians 6:9, NRSV)”
Bishop Douglas Miles, Pastor of Koinonia Baptist Church in Baltimore, says this justice race is not only a marathon; it’s a relay. We’re a team--passing the baton from one generation to the other and passing the baton from protestors to legislators to negotiators to implementers.
This week I’m reminding myself that this journey toward justice is a marathon and not a sprint. Jesus reminds us in Matthew 24 and Mark 13 that justice and love and truth will always have opposition, but “the one who endures to the end will be saved.”
