One of the footballers I befriended on trial in Abuja two years ago (for my failed Spanish trial due to visa issues) just called to say he has quit football.

He said he is tired, struggling financially and wants to focus on his handwork as a mechanic. He has left Abuja for Lagos and even asked me to help find a buyer for the new boots someone just gave him.

This is a solid two-footed winger. Kaduna boy.
