@ChocGiddyup@bansky I’m familiar. He hasn’t done that kind of work in years. He wants to be an entertainer and that’s fine. He’s not a journalist anymore. He carries water for the leagues by focusing on petty narratives instead of larger issues. Doesn’t say a word when other journalists get fired.
@colincowherd Who’s in the room with Jerry? That giants hard knocks really showed that these owners surround themselves with guys that just don’t have a clue. This is what you get.
@EZE3D They never show any real industry application. Like tell us to wait 2 years for it to improve all you want, there’s just no consideration that everything in every field is the result of tons of picky changes made to an evolving product. You can’t do that with a generated product.
@FletchWasSafe Social media has turned it from a book/movie with a very concentrated thesis with impacts inside and outside of sports into that cool Pitt baseball movie you watch scenes of on YouTube that has the good musical score.
@Dom_2k@InternetHippo The most important election is this one, the second most important is the next one always and forever. The only way self-government works is with active citizenship. Part of that is voting.
@RichHomieFlom Feel like these storylines always happen in either early season or winter doldrums. Bc it’s coming off of postseason.
The last basketball we watched was the playoffs, Olympics, and the best WNBA season on record. Comparing all that to October hoops is apples and oranges.
@conorsen It becomes a kind of activism similar to buying a Prius for the environment or an American made car to show you support the US.
At some level you’ve always had to cater to an audience, it’s why Spotlight coming out of a Catholic city was so massive. It’s just more present now.
@HPbasketball I’m always confused by why fans should care about tv ratings or team profitability. If anything you want the league to make less so that tickets/tv are cheaper.
The media just likes bringing it up bc the less people watch games, the less they listen to pods/watch their shows.
@HLTCO As an American, I don’t even think we want it. There’s no regulation around ticket prices here so FLYING to Europe for games isn’t that significant of a difference in cost. Plus if you’re an American fan of either, you don’t want your players jet lagged mid title fight.
@stevetwisp Underrated thing it does is show how it’s different from the Simpsons. When this came out, both are on Fox, similar art style, similar team. This pilot showed it was gonna be about a found family and a big world whereas the Simpsons is a regular family and very grounded.
@JTGatlin Hakeem has such an underrated highlight reel. There’s a fluidity to his game and moves that doesn’t show how hard it is to really do what hes doing at the speed and quality that he is.
@EZE3D Like what is the industry application of this? Like even if you got it to run 2 hours of animation, you can’t prompt the 1000 picky changes that are part of every creative project.
@MehreenKhn@KuperSimon@heroesandhumans What do you think of the “England Manager must be English” media cycle we just had, esp with how Southgate tried to change the brand up?
@CuffsTheLegend Why would the bulls want to do this. If Russel and Rui are so easy to throw into the trade machine, then they don’t have too much value.
@DKThomp@JamesSurowiecki True but he’s still right about something else. The politics of loneliness push people farther from the mainstream. There are always people to validate your nonsense online.
