GIANTS WIN‼️
Only the SECOND TIME EVER the Giants beat Dallas in the opener
Three years ago we were in the rain at MetLife down 40–0…
Now Skatt is out here dribbling the football like Brunson and we’re 1–0
We found three main barriers to implementation:
1) Institutional and Policy Barriers, referring to policies and administrative inefficiencies that delay program approval
2) Challenges in Community Engagement and Coordination
3) Resource Constraints
As a Yale freshman, I watched four ambulances pull up to Phelps Gate in a single night.
Three years later, as chief of Yale EMS, I spent much of the year trying to expand access to naloxone and fentanyl test strips.
Why is campus harm reduction so hard?
Paper below.
“It took us three years to get approval for Naloxone…” said one student group.
How can that be a rational institutional response to a student request? Most of the student organizers probably graduated by then!
Crazy to see nearly half the new M1 class join our CVIG kickoff and get an introduction to @WashU_CT
Huge thanks to Drs. Masood, Meyers, Ruck, @SophiaRPyeatte, and @MaryASikiMD for sharing their wisdom on training and research paths!
Excited for what’s up next @washumedicine
Some fascinating history: In 1959, Ledley & Lusted argued that physicians mimic Bayesian reasoning: assigning conditional probabilities given their observations.
Today, AI can do that at scale.
If inference is cheap, how do we ensure patients get more connection/trust/value?
1/ We started @CuraiHQ with the mission of proving AI could outperform humans at the core cognitive work of medicine.
Today in @JAMA_Current, @ZekeEmanuel, @AbeBakerButler, @vkhosla, and I are publishing a comprehensive argument this future is here.

Immensely grateful to @aoeverhart and our exceptional team! @ftbourgeois@arieldora@mikezhuyi
If you find yourself at the AcademyHealth ARM in Seattle next month, I’ll be presenting this work and would love to chat!

New in @JAMAHealthForum today!
AI improves medical devices iteratively in response to real-world data, yet FDA review was built for static devices.
Predetermined Change Control Plans (PCCPs) aim to bridge that gap.
We studied 794 AI devices to see how PCCPs are being used…🧵

Still, the low overall adoption suggests there remain unidentified barriers to PCCP use.
Further stakeholder engagement is vital to this framework and AI deployment in healthcare overall.
Our notifications are blowing up with basketball tweets, but we are the Yale molecular biophysics and biochemistry account! You might want to tag @YaleMBasketball instead 🏀
