@JezCorden Is 'Xbox Mode' just a renaming of 'Full Screen Experience'? While it's better than nothing, it still needs a LOT of work to be considered even remotely close to a console Experience. I use my PC in the living room, and it's still absolutely mandatory to have a keyboard/mouse.
@assassinscreed How is there no PC collectors edition? This is so messed up. At this point, if you play on PC and want the collectors edition with ultimate edition content, you have to buy the game twice and spend $410. WTF, Ubisoft?

@dark1x I'm in the camp that PS games should be day one on PC. The additional revenue can keep them actually making the games. Even if PC gamers did buy a PS5 just for a few exclusives, it's not driving them to use the console for other games, which is what Sony really wants.
@Qwik@majornelson I got that Alienware monitor the day it came out, and I've been loving it. It's a perfect screen for someone who uses a PC and consoles. I find that I like how it looks even more than my LG C2 in the living room.
@Warcraft I have bought every CE since day one in 2004, but this is finally breaking the chain. I can't believe the only option is with an expensive statue that I don't want and with an additional shipping charge tacked on. Happy 20th, I'm out, and a 20-year tradition is dead.
@JezCorden My biggest takeaways from this are:
Biggest tech leap in hardware ever (doesn't make sense technologically)
Heavy AI focus for games and development.
Prepping for a paradigm shift in hardware.
The wording is purposeful and has meaning. WTH are they working on?
@digitalfoundry@dark1x@Dachsjaeger Loved hearing the Jet Force Gemini music in the intro to this, that really brought me back. Looking forward to this one. I love these videos, and GRAW was a super interesting cross gen game.
@DMC_Ryan It doesn't even feel like a generation. It's been more than three years, and it's been almost entirely cross gen. It's also seems like games are taking twice as long to develop for no discernable reason. It really feels like generations are over.
@dark1x@Shinku_Shun I remember the launch being fairly underwhelming, and the holiday being light, but the floodgates started early 2001 and fed the greatest year in gaming history.
@JezCorden Yep, and Xbox should change to the same strategy. Release a "console" that runs full windows but by default boots into an Xbox console UI. And release a handheld that does the same and can dock. Just make Xbox a simple to use console like PC/handheld.
@dark1x It reminds me of when Metroid Prime was shown for the first time and everyone was angry that it was first person. The game came out and everyone loved the perspective.
@SVR_Armani@dark1x@Shpeshal_Nick Try adjusting your monitor settings when the input is in HDR mode. Crank the contrast to 100, and your monitor might want brightness cranked as well (which is your backlight level, not black level). But yeah, it doesn't have good local dimming, so maybe don't bother.
@dark1x@SVR_Armani@Shpeshal_Nick I got HDR to this point on PC as well, but I had to make sure the settings on my monitor were correct when in HDR mode. I hadn't realized that my monitor (Samsung Neo G7) needed the contrast set to 100, otherwise HDR content is off and SDR content is washed out.
@MannyCalavera12@Dachsjaeger That's not really what this video is about. It's more about learning what settings the developers used to achieve what they did on lower end hardware. It's a great way to optimize on PC. A separate console specific video is also coming from someone else on the team.
@Gameonysus What are your parts not enough for? Games get more demanding over time, and you won't be able to use maxed out settings on older parts. Just turn settings down and use FSR/DLSS. It's not like consoles magically maintain high settings either.
@dark1x I've dabled, but the Oculus air link wasn't good enough for a really great experience before. Now it is, especially on Quest 3 with WiFi 6 support. My PC is now to a point where I can easily move it back and forth to the living room where it can have a wired connection, too.
